Tommy's right. Put more effort cuz they didn't anything but pose then charge at the army. Carol literally was like "see ya" and blasted through by herself. Okoye took down Corvus by herself, and the others were just blasting away. I think Gamora and Brunnhilde attack same the giant target though.
In IW, there was an actual team-up, each combatant protecting each other from blows and ganging up Proxima till Wanda said "fuck it" LOL. I
It wasn't a coincidence that Black Widow and Okoye happened to be in that ditch ready to fight that female villain in Infinity War?

1. Carol DIDN'T NEED HELP! Cap Marvel was clearly shown to be 1 woman army out there. This scene should have been for another's sake.

This is really the issue with it for me. Don't have a problem with the women unite part, I have a problem with it being done in a completely pointless way. Carol had just destroyed Thanos' ultimate galaxy conquering warship simply by flying through it, and then Okoye is like "she's got help" and literally stabs one alien with her spear. Come the fuck on. You're right, it definitely should have happened in order to help another of the women get the gauntlet to Carol or something.

Btw Iron Man defeated him. There would definitely be outrage if it was woman that did it.

There was already pre-outrage from babies assuming Carol was gonna defeat Thanos. It was a wild ride up to the release day.

Basically, removing Carol from that scene improves it by a lot, because her powers kind of throw tension to the wind.

An extended action sequence where Carol is busy destroying the ship in the background while on the ground a bunch of female heroes participate in a long game of keep away with the Gauntlet would have been much more satisfying.

To put it bluntly, a lot of MCU films come off like they were purely constructed in a board room and relied heavily on focus group research to determine the story beats. There is a very corporate quality to them.

Yeah. You and I completely disagree here.

Because if you can say this with a straight face when the shitshows with other superhero IP at other studios demonstrate the compete opposite of what you said.

The MCU has what they dont. Heart. The vision and the pieces have changed along the way. We didnt get the Edger Wright Ant Man (no ones more disappointed than me). Well never see Chadwick return as the King of Wakanda. But almost ANY Marvel nerd you talk to will tell you how much these movies rock and how they have complete and utter faith their heroes are In good hands.

I didn't mention coincidences. Of course it was. Or was it? Wanda left her post and it was broadcasted to everyone, so I'd imagine the others were heading towards her and Vision anyways. The bad guys sure were.

Though I was specifically talking about them actually working together, giving us some cool combo attacks.

I'm fine with coincidences, that's a staple in movies.

No because it was well earned because Scarlett Witches reason for hating Thanos and power levels are very well established. Honestly, it was one of the best parts of the movie and my only complaint is I wanted more of it.

Now compare it to the 'assemble' scene:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fP2w_UAK6B4

Thanos and his army just stand there watching, for two minutes and 50 seconds (by comparison, the girl power scene was 15 seconds), while the heroes take their time to pop up, strike a pose one by one and look cool.

It's very cheesy. It absolutely is fanservice. The entire scene makes no sense if this was an actual battle.

People loved it though, it got the entire theater cheering. That's what the movie was going for and it succeeded.

I think the only questionable part of that is the use of the lightning. He knows how to use most weapons in general, Im sure hes used a hammer before, Vision comments in Age of Ultron how the hammer is well balanced for people that can actually lift it, and Cap has a lot of experiencing throwing things at enemies in a fight. Its actually probably easier to use the hammer than the shield since he can just will it to return to him rather than having to know the proper angle to throw it like with the shield.

sure he aint no Taskmaster. But its spinning a hammer for Odins sake. Shouldnt be that hard for him.

Weapons Proficiency: Rogers does not typically utilize weapons other than his shield, but in desperate situations he wields additional weapons to ensure victory. He is proficient in wielding swords, daggers, throwing knifes, staffs, sticks, tonfa, axes, maces and even firearms

I mean you can swing anything with a strap around like a helicopter blade. He knows how to use most weapons and the hammer is well balanced, I doubt it would be that difficult for him to spin it around like that just because he hasnt wielded that particular hammer before.

A bunch of ranged attackers converging to defend an universe destroying glove from the main villain who is an unstoppable melee juggernaut makes a hell of a lot more sense than any of the other "money shots".

But no, there's an agenda against white men in a movie where the three primary characters are white men and the villain is played by a white man. Totally makes sense.
