I absolutely LOVE Christmas music. It's among my favorites, and it really just puts me in the mood for the season. But I wouldn't want to listen to it year-round. Part of the charm is that this is something I only get to enjoy for 6-8 weeks out of the year, but I cram in as much as possible during those weeks.

Yeah it's great as long as you listen to it in-season. I've never worked retail though and I'm sure it's torture for those that have.

In general, to both. This is the most nostalgic time of the year for me, so it's not something I've been able to bring myself to hate, even notwithstanding all the other ways I've changed over the years.

Anyone else notice that Christmas music gets a lot less hate now? People always complained about it when I was growing up, kids and adults alike, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

I think it has to do with people spending less time as "captive audiences" for it, between the rise of online shopping and COVID.

Oh, that's absolutely a factor too. Just look at how many people defend Nickelback nowadays for a similar phenomenon!

It's generally fine, but every christmas song made in the 80's was complete and utter trash for some reason. except mannheim steamroller

I mostly like the choir Christmas music. Some of the more contemporary songs sometimes have obnoxious melodies that I can't stand.

I have no idea how it manages to be worse than average in every genre, but it does. That, combined with their inherent overplaying, makes Christmas music unbearable

Christmas music is OK i just wish we didn't play it for 2 to 3 months.

It's okay in small doses. As long as you don't do much shopping offline, or use the radio, or visit public locations that play music, or watch regular television, or...

In other words, no.

Some songs are better than others. I'd say the classic carol stuff tends to be better.

Yes, I do because I love Christmas or, I suppose more specifically, yuletide.

I enjoy the cold weather, the culture behind Christmas trees, goodwill, and people being holly and jolly towards one-another. I love the family culture and the point of spending time with loved ones and close friends. I feel like it's a great way for people to end the year when they do nice things for one-another.

Believe it or not, I actually do not care much for the Christ-mas songs since I'm agnostic and all-too-aware that Christians stole from pagan culture. But I am definitely a Santa guy and love all the stories about Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, etc.

Plus, it's great for the economy. Electronics and games are put on sale for a reasonable price. Can't argue with that either!

But all in all, it's just a great excuse to get-together with friends and family.

It's fine if I don't hear the same song more than twice a day. Besides, What other time of year can you really play it?

Generally puts me in a good mood though "All I want for Christmas" has me scrambling to turn over or mute (Restaraunt put song on loop a few years ago and I've taken a moderate dislike to it)

Yes I love it and I love digging up obscure ones to add to my playlist every year.
