but you're still gonna pay for it after the fact since they may not be able to afford a lot anyway with a kid.
like the reason why abortions are covered by insurance isn't for any moral reasons, it's practical: abortions are significantly cheaper than childbirth. i'm talking at least 50x cheaper, to the point that the ambulance usually costs more.

that just starts opening the door to the value of different births. like a normal childbirth is about 30k and complications will add on that, especially a premature birth. that'll easily get its way into over 100k and the more serious ones are still notably higher than that, enough that you should not expect that child to be worth more than their birth for at least 20-30 years. worse, the most expensive cases probably have just a few years before whatever complication takes 'em out at a young age.

like on the argument of insurance i don't really have any moral objections in either direction, it's all just practical. it's cheaper for insurance companies to offer than an ambulance ride if it's early enough, so of course they'll cover it. same with the pill or condoms, stuff like this is much cheaper and if it's offered to everyone it means everybody's premium can go down, meaning more money can be spent in other fields boosting the economy that way too. the financial side of this is very clear and exclusively in one direction.

But I don't think society should be inclined to play into that. If you're aborting as a matter of finance cause you don't want to pay for the shit you can get in a pharmacy for a few bucks that's gross to me. I don't wanna pay for gross people

i agree with the general sentiment there but i'm expecting to eat that cost in some way and be forced to pay anyway, like through welfare/government options, with the biggest difference will be the amount they cost. if we end up expanding the insurance system closer in the direction of M4A or any similar program that also means you're gonna be paying for them. either you end up paying part of the cheaper front end or you pay a significantly greater backend.

You keep aborting for the parent who is just abusing a discount perhaps they keep doing it 10 more times and the bridge of economics narrow. Do it for the ambulance and at that point you have a child who can contribute gdp and perhaps keep the parent from recklessly banging as much. I dunno. I'm just saying I don't want to enable that behavior specifically it's not about paying less taxes in general

Allergic reaction isn't as common as you're implying and there are a few options. I'd guess your wife had one of the ones that wasn't copper since that's a really uncommon allergy (and can also be tested before inserting fairly easily). I mean Latex allergies are much more common but we wouldn't suggest men not wear condoms.

Regardless the point is there are options that should be made available and used before abortion which should always be the last resort.
