And it's so damn petty lol. It's when Internet people beat the same joke into the ground. We've all seen it here and on reddit. Here are some classic reddit examples:

-person says "fuck Donald trump"
response is "I'd rather not" or something like that
-person mentions a wife
response is "I also choose this guy's dead wife
-person mentions sibling
response is "roll tide"

This is like the last way I'm conscious of that I'm still a stick in the mud about. it's really petty and I wanna not care, like who cares what's funny to other people right?

The top comments on any Reddit frontpage post are the absolute worst. It's neckbeards trying to one-up each other with shitty puns.

The Rick Moranis one needs to die in a fire, considering what he's gone through and recently being punched for walking down the street, it's inconsiderate and tasteless. IDK man, here it feels like I'm the only one who gets bent outta shape over that stuff. I've been mostly good lately but the Megatech thread where everyone just says the same thing reminded me of this "quirk" of mine. It's like those old threads where everyone just posts "choco" or that PokemonExpert guy who just posts a pokemon name for the topic title then same thing as his OP.

Even if it's appropriate to get annoyed over repeating the same joke over and over, I don't like that I do that. I'm thankful it's a pretty minor issue but it's still something I wanna fix about myself. I wanna be carefree and not rain on peoples' parades

Issue with Reddit loving all those ****ty puns is that they insist on shoving them in to like every topic. They'll somehow tie it to the post in the most tenuous way.

They're that guy at a party. The smug guy who thinks everyone's laughing with him, when really it's at him. The kinda guy you roll your eyes at when you see him approaching and you find a reason to bail that conversation.

Like that, but a convention of them. All guffawing at the same joke and patting each other on the back.

Some quicker than others. The list of inane comments that jura52 lists here are not puns. They are just empty comments that litter the place, and for sure they are quite predictable. They are the potted plant in the restaurant. The in-joke on TV. The hand signal between clan members. The noise of children. The "howya doin'" that doesnt want a real answer They add nothing, but take them away and you have a more sterile place, and people trying not to be people, and that's worse.
