I doubt I take that many steps on most days, especially with COVID... Plus the hourly rate is like $1200 a day so I can't complain about that.

$1. I didn't do the math. I'll just step my shit up if the math doesn't already work in my favor. I know it would in summer it would. You could still go to Walmart and walk around the store once to buy something tho. I could afford a tool or game just walking to it.

Could be good motivation to keep walking and get into/keep in shape. 1200 steps really isn't that much, I recon you could knock that out just by walking to and from the kitchen a few times.

according to my smartwatch, my average is 10000 steps a day.

so between 10000$ and 1200$ a day, obviously i choose the steps.

When I was doing the whole 10,000 steps a day thing, I would get 7,000 by default just from going to work, lunch and errands. On days I didn't go into work, I still got about 3,000 naturally.

Easy choice.

Hourly might be worth it for when you get older. You could certainly make bank right now, but might by a lot less by the time you hit 75. Though I guess all the waking might leave you still pretty fit at 75.

Even just taking 5K steps a day on average, you're racking in 1.8 million a year. Even if you pay 50% income tax on that, it's still $900K a year. Assuming the people are 40 for the sake of argument, that leaves 20 years until you hit 60, 30 if you walk till you're 70. That's 18 - 27 million dollars. I don't think you'd really need to invest it at all.

I walk 100 steps per minute at a brisk walking speed according to my Galaxy watch, and I can easily walk for 20 minutes or more in a single session ($2000 right there) and over 6000 steps per day. I'd be idiot for choosing the $100/hr option when simply walking is clearly the better deal.
