@pinky0926 (correct me if I'm wrong) - I think a lot of medication is super cheap in other countries because the United States essentially subsidizes it by overpaying the pharmaceutical companies because we don't have an intermediary organization for the majority of people to negotiate drug prices (similar to a lot of European countries).

That means we get the pharma drugs faster and have more available but also the ones available globally cost way more for those of us in the United States.

I don't know much about this tbh. All I know is my dad gets his lifesaving medication delivered to his door and it costs him nothing at all.

Assuming for the sake of the meme we take his net worth as his money, he'd still have 18.7 billion dollars.

It's astonishing how wealthy he is, it's beyond comprehension. You could run the same experiment with him losing 99.99% of his wealth and he'd still have 18 million to play with.

Doesn't really prove anything. It's no secret that poor people generally live unhealthy lives and have poor habits. Doesn't mean they're out on the streets holding signs that read "will work for healthcare" and being denied treatment like people act. I've met a shit ton of people in my 30 years of life. How come I've never heard of a single person being denied vital treatments/medicine and dying as a result? What about medicaid?

So you don't support him, you just don't see an issue with hoarding such vast sums of wealth (taken out of our economy and stored in offshore accounts, fyi) off of the sweat of your underpaid, disposable workers?

I'm indifferent to him. I enjoy the services Amazon provides, and would not like to see him have to sell off his company . Amazon workers get above average pay, and I don't know what this hoarding you are talking about is. He started and owns a significant stake in a company that investors drove the share price up on. I don't see him out here vacuuming up people's money. The value of Amazon stock isn't in offshore accounts.

I don't defend Bezos because I somehow think it will better my own situation. I simply believe that he earned his money fair and square and no one else is entitled to it.

And the average person is more than capable of putting money into their IRA/401k every month to achieve a decent retirement. Stop acting like achieving a reasonable degree of financial comfort is unobtainable for the average, working class person.

Thus, "everyone" gains $168 billion, which works out to be about $658 per adult in the US, or about 4% of the total federal budget.
That would be a hell of a Amazon binge, but Amazon was likely liquidated to cover the tax bill.

And oh no, the poor almost trillionaire. He's treated soooo unfairly. Making the rich pay their fair share is worse than Hitler, aids, and cancer combined.
