I remember an article a few years back about a lot of butch lesbians discovering they were men and transitioning. It was an issue in the lesbian community, especially with TERFS. Some transmen who previously were TERF lesbian feminists internalized this and believed they were either selling out women or buckling to patriarchy by identifying as men. Fortunately, TERFS are increasingly looked down on in feminism as a whole, so I imagine reaffirming their feminist identity while transitioning into a male gender would be included in the process. There are probably a lot of transmen living as butches and studs who don't feel comfortable coming out because they don't want to let go of the support they receive in the lesbian community. I remember an article a few years back about a lot of butch lesbians discovering they were men and transitioning. It was an issue in the lesbian community, especially with TERFS. Some transmen who previously were TERF lesbian feminists internalized this and believed they were either selling out women or buckling to patriarchy by identifying as men. Fortunately, TERFS are increasingly looked down on in feminism as a whole, so I imagine reaffirming their feminist identity while transitioning into a male gender would be included in the process. There are probably a lot of transmen living as butches and studs who don't feel comfortable coming out because they don't want to let go of the support they receive in the lesbian community.
