According to the letter there was 40 trans murders in 2020. That's...a really small number of people actually. I'm not sure how many trans people are in the US but even if it's only like 500k, 40 murders can't really be that much higher then the standard murder rate. It's certainly not some sort of genocide. It all seems really overblown. Because, with most violence against trans folk, its usually committed against them BECAUSE theyre trans.
