This has been eating at me for the last 18 hours or so and I dont have a lot of good places to put it.

Met a guy at a meet up board game night and we had a lot in common. Over the past 2 years he had been to my house with some of his other friends 5-6 times.

he suddenly disappeared and I only knew his first name. After checking for obituaries I searched for arrests and it turned out he had served 14 months for possession of CP back in 2017 and was convicted of sending sexually suggestive pictures to a minor this March across the country and had been on the run. Was arrested in October and is being held without bail which is why he went radio silent.

I feel like the phrase I dont even is a joke, but I have never felt more I dont even right now Him having randomly died in a car crash or something would have been a better outcome.

I mean, end of the day, you barely knew the dude. There is a few people in video games I feel like that gravitate to children stuff with the idolization of children body characters in many games.

In the end, it is what it is. I wouldn't dwell on it. Dude was a piece of shit. You couldn't have known.

I dont know. I feel like if I had felt he was a sleezy guy it wouldnt have rocked me so hard, but I never got that from him.

Lots of people like that are pretty good people who don't know how to deal with their sexual urges. Therapy isn't offered, and it's the one ailment that society won't accept you for. These parts of them fester and without an outlet they turn into things like what he was arrested for.

Around over a year ago we got these new neighbors that my family became friendly with. I spoke to the dude across the street nearly every day and we were basically friends. He and his wife were okay but anyway one day police are swarming the street, blue lights and ambulances up and down the street, and I'm thinking, okay, what did Jay do? Is he on the run from the cops? I'm from the south, fairly everybody is either gonna be a hardcore conservative christian right-wing conservative or a you can tell they've done meth hillbilly and he was the later. But no, we watched for a few hours to keep checking and they're pulling body-bags out of there and putting them in some mini-hearse. You could tell who was who because she was bigger and he was smaller. Even had a bag for their damn dog. Heartbreaking. The cops were real interested in this regular push lawn-mower they pulled out of the house. No idea what happened for days but pulled in enough information since then to know that he and his wife got naked and killed themselves closed up in the room with a push mower turned on till it ran out of gas after they were dead. This was pretty damn traumatic cause they were a young couple around our age. We knew them. We were fucked up for weeks. Never knew their last name so couldn't find their obits. Well, one day me and my partner are watching this random video from the internet, it's about this dude beating a pedo from his area that was looking at his daughter. Cause he looked on the Watchdog website. So we decide to look on Watchdog for ourselves. It's only been like three weeks since they died at that point so I guess it hasn't updated but right there is those neighbors. They didn't have their kids but I figured it was just for being deadbeat drug-addicts, that's typical, but no, they ****ed their kids. Lot of complicated feelings over that one.

When a sex offender moves into my neighborhood I get a piece of mail from the government with their name, address, picture, and the crime they were convicted of, I kinda figured that was a national program but I guess not!

I mean reading through your short blurb, you admit you only knew his first name. That isn't someone you're close to. There's no way you could know he was human garbage.

It is awful but there isn't much you could do here.

I think I posted about this, but one of my best friends from college disappeared a couple years ago. We played table tennis almost daily in the student union, basketball pretty much weekly, video games here and there, talked regularly, etc. I thought it was weird he stopped posting on social media, and he wasn't responding to my messages either. I eventually got worried he ended up dying in combat or something (he dropped out and joined the military at some point) so I googled him and yeah, he got Chris Hansen'd basically. He hooked up with at least two 15 year olds, one of their parents caught wind of it and they got detectives to pose as her. He attempted to hook up with her and her "13 year old friend" and the cops were waiting for him. Apparently he also threatened to send nudes of one of the girls to her parents if she didn't sleep with him again, after she told him to leave her alone. Also he had a girlfriend of about 4 years at the time (of legal age!) that I was also kinda friends with. He got 19 years.

I still sometimes feel a little weird when I play the Vita he gave me >_>

Man thats awful. Like my friend was certainly a friend, but I wouldnt have called him a great friend or anything. This is a whole different level.
