I don't have a smoking gun yet, but I believe I'm close to uncovering the truth. I think to most of us, it's clear that Zeus is probably not a real person, but a constructed caricature created for entertainment. Because if he is a real person that's just sad. Why PO? Here's the evidence we've collected:

-We know PO is not above creating alter-ego identities to troll PotD (see: the famous Christine Kao incident in which he and nudojudo are the primarily suspects and accepted culprits).

-We know PO would not half-ass an attempt, so keeping an account hidden and accumulating karma for years before activating it is definitely likely.

-PO will often rush to defend Zeus despite usually staying out of "drama" (see: his post in "Zeus is warned" topic).

-Somewhat similar posting style where they seem to lack the ability to concisely summarize their points. Both seem of the mindset that longer posts gives the appearance of intelligence.

-Both claim users they disagree with are "troll alts" as if this somehow invalidates any statement or opinion shared from said "troll alt".

-Zeus began his rise shortly before Trump took off. For PO, who is known to hate politicians and political discussion, the possibility of a non-politician becoming elected could have gotten his loins moist, but he knew he'd need an alter ego to express "controversial" political opinions if he didn't want to ruin the image of himself that he's cultivated here.

I think it's likely that if PO is behind Zeus, he's working in tandem with another user, likely either a Geek, former Geek, or a seemingly inactive user who was once PO's friend. This would allow them to flesh out Zeus's character more and construct minor false differences of opinion on pop culture and media to give the illusion of Zeus being a real person.

Copying my reply from the other topic, but I mused about this before a few years ago without jumping too deep into it. I would say the two probably agree on most things, but they don't overlap much in their discussions.

One weird detail I noticed is PO despises the musical Hamilton while Zeus loves it. I don't know if that makes the theory stronger or weaker.

Honestly, Zeus liking Hamilton seems kinda out of character. Maybe nudo or whoever likes Hamilton so much that was a detail he just couldn't do without in this character.

Maybe. I never considered that. I don't know PO well and I know he's generally well liked for some reason so I never jumped down this rabbit hole. At the end of the day it doesn't matter because

They were argumentative and highly "anti left" but personality wise weren't super similar. But Janway was 100% confirmed to be an act. Very gimmicky person.

You mean the incident where Syco was the only one who was convinced it was true, it was more or less disproven almost immediately, and pretty much everyone on the board mostly just ragged on him for weeks for being a moron? And the only reason it was ever brought up from that point on was mostly to just make fun of him?

I suppose it's thematically appropriate that you've decided to follow in his footsteps, though.

I feel like you may to find a dictionary and look up the definition of "often".

I think you may also have to look up the words "know" and "evidence", because you seem to be misusing those as well. And we've already established you might not actually understand the definition of the words "extremely chummy" either.

I think you're vastly overestimating the amount of time, energy, or interest I'm willing to invest on most people on this board these days.

Honestly, I feel like PO responding the way he did here only lends credence to the theory, which I've only proposed as a theory and not some irrefutable truth. He generally avoids topics and claims like this. Why bite onto this one? And what's with the random and unnecessary hostility? Is he perhaps upset that people are figuring it out?

Also, his point about him ignoring trolling and Zeus always responding is an interesting turn of events considering he's the one who responded to this topic while Zeus allegedly has me on ignore.

A mod mentioned that account was on a Middle Eastern IP. Prolly was a troll but coulda been using a VPN to sell it. They also said Zeuses IP was solo but that was proven wrong. Its obvious Zeus is using a VPN to hide.
My money is on Zeus being the legit account and the Janway was just him trollin and using stereotypes because hes an cruel person.

This all was originally meant as just a goofy prod at PO calling me a "troll alt" because the only other person to do that is Zeus (and really, PO, even after I credited you with introducing me to Thomas Covenant!?), hence why I used evidence like the "Christine Kao incident" which happened more as PO described it than how I do in the OP. But I also just decided to run with it because conspiracies are fun and why not. PO getting annoyed enough to hurl personal insults is a kinda funny but unintended outcome. He's usually a pretty levelheaded and reasonable person and I didn't expect him to take this topic so seriously lol. If anything PO has always been a poster I appreciated, but I guess he's getting sensitive in his old age!

Yeah, clearly someone has the time and dedication for this. Whether that person is also PO is anyone's guess though, because he didn't do himself any favors with his post here.

I have wondered this in the past and decided the only proof I have one way or the other is hearsay from both of them declaring they are not the other. I have as much evidence to assert that cotton candy both causes and cures cancer; which is to say none.

His presence is on the list of reasons I quit being a part of those topics, sure, but the other reasons are both greater and something dating back further than his regular appearances on this board.

Similar to another reason of mine. Years of being alienated on things I wanted to talk about, not even counting FFXIV, and mostly ignored. Then maybe one or two of those things are rbought up by someone else at another point, maybe a week or two later, and I had already said my piece, not that anyone remembered unless I point it out. I told Wave this in a private message, and he missed the point entirely and said "I'm sorry, I know FFXIV is very important to you just as pro wrestling is to me." :facepalm:

As for Zeus vs PO, I will say this: If I make a reference, PO will explain the reference thoroughly and in a backhanded manner as though I missed something about it when, yeah, buddy, that is known and entirely the point of my reference in the first place. Zeus is more likely to misinterpret the reference entirely but still show he sort of gets it, like the time I made reference to something Sarah Palin actually said and he responded in a way that made it seem as though he thought it came solely from SNL.

Yeah, I can't remember the last time I was a regular contributor to the Geek threads, but I did stop posting there after it felt like I was shouting into a void. I don't have anything against people having their little discussion club cliques, but I don't get much enjoyment from those threads these days. Even lurking and reading them I don't get as much insight and info as I did in the past.

Anyway, new theory proposition: JigsawTDC is really Genius Mastermind thekidwiththefa. What do you guys think?
