During the part where Tristan is trying to rescue soul less Mokuba. He and Bakura get stopped by guards so Bakura uses the Ring to summon Man Eater. This is right before Tristan takes and throws the ring away.

Ironically I agree. Kinda like rewatching the SW prequels. There's some bad shit here and there you'd never notice as a kid or teenager, but you appreciate the charming things about them.

Yugioh was never good, it's all nostalgia glasses we wear. I do like how in the new yugioh movie it basically embraces how over the top and stupid the show was.

Wait I have a question. In season 1, Pegasus has the power to see peoples cards during the game. But then Tea and Tristan explore the castle and discover a tower that has a hole that allows them to look directly at Yugi and the cards he is holding, so it seems that Pegasus doesnt need his power after all and is merely cheating? What was that about?

Bad writing made for people with cat-like attention spans. Really fucking stupid they couldn't stick with the magic angle and made something else up because....actually that doesn't make sense either. Plus everyone cheats in Duel Monsters whether via instant ritual summoning or making up advantageous flip/summon effects for monsters with no effects.

Yes the Millennium Eye did have powers, thats why Yami and Yugi had to switch during the duel vs Pegasus

I dont remember the details of the tower but I'm sure it was for pegasus' henchmen. There were other people trying to fuck with Yugi and Kaiba y'know

No it did just like all the artifacts. What you're talking about is like adding a 2nd insurance weakness to one that already existed, but for the sake of a plot twist that didn't need to happen. Now that's really really bad writing.

no @Doe its trying to be more comedic. its been legit funny at times though
the current arc is decent but there are only 2 episodes of the current arc left

so the villain of the arc has an underground lair full of duelists he keeps dragging the heroes to at random
if they lose 6 times they will be banned from dueling forever!
and its not just the 4 leads who will be banned. all their friends will be as well.

there is a 37 year old woman who looks like she is 8 and works for the bad guys. she went undercover at the elementary school to destroy rush duels. anyway she dueled the heroes in disguise. only it was her own son she dueled. and when she lost it was counted as a 1 of the 6 losses for the good guys since the computer algorithm determined she was an ally of yuga so her loss was a loss for his team.

then yuga lost his first duel against the villain putting them at 2 losses
and this latest episode had romin, gokuto and luke all duel and win against the mysterious otis and again since the algorithm determined he was their ally their wins meant 3 more losses so if they lose their next duel they will be banned from dueling forever!!

The original series has aged really poorly. I would only really be interested in rewatching 5ds subbed out of the older ygo series

I rewatched a good bit of it recently and the first season is pretty terrible but it gets much better with the battle city arc in pretty much every way. Even without judging the content, the production quality made a fucking leap and a half.

@SSJKirby is that the game where each card is worth certain amount of points and you had a quota to reach in your deck? Like if you had too many strong cards, you had to remove some to make a proper deck? Because I hated that game.

Rewatching this anime made me buy all the god cards and yugi and kaiba and pegasus decks even tho i dont play at all
