But seriously, do they only happen to have it on when she visits or do they literally always have it on? There's a huge difference between staying informed and compulsively bingeing cable news like a lot of people do. If they actually have it on all the time, I'll sign off on her complaint. Also, my wife's grandparents are the same way with having the news on the TV continually. At one point when we were at their cabin everyone went outside for like an hour, while I stayed inside reading. Since no one was watching the TV I turned it off. When her grandpa came inside her grandpa was confused about why the TV was off, like he couldn't comprehend that someone wouldn't just leave the TV on constantly. <cite>googs19 posted [p:947118842] in Why do so ... It's not bad to take a glance and stay up-to-date, but most people are binging on it 24/7, and that's an addiction rather than "staying informed". My mother loves the news, devours it all day, and always has to call and tell me about how this person over in another city died or there was a puppy that was killed by teenagers over in who-the-fuck-knows or what the devious liberals are up to now.
