Yes, though cases here are still quite low because my area has taken this seriously the entire time.

...actually on second thought that might not be true; the number of daily confirmed cases appears to be around five times higher now glancing at the data, but testing has improved a ton since then. We're definitely doing worse now than we were a few weeks ago.

Worse than April? Yes.

We've got our first COVID scare at home right now too. Everyone masked up and isolating pending a test result. Expecting a negative but being cautious with even minor respiratory symptoms that are too severe to be labeled as just allergies.

Definately higher here in Ohio again, and there's only one thing I could really point this at that would be causing such a spike (and I don't want this devolving into arguments). The last big event that occurred countrywide was election day. And considering locally at my polling place, when i went in the morning, I immediately left due to the wait being an hour long (I had work to do) and came back after work, when it was in and out. And I don't know if there's been a lot of post election partying or commiserating, but the timeframe seems to work out with what we have been told on incubation (3-5 days) and the like.

Pretty sure it's worse than ever now but we're not taking it as seriously as we did before and the weather is less helpful, so that's, y'know, super.

My area got hit hard in May rather than March/April, but it's definitely getting close again. I'm expecting the week of Thanksgiving to be the threshold of it being worse.

Hard to judge if it's worse from a personal perspective, because it was new back then. Now, we are used to it and prepared, so nothing feels different.

It's about the same
Here in Israel the "second save" started earlier than the rest of Europe, and we are now over it
But by "over" I mean we average 700 total new cases a day (the peak of the second wave was about 8000)
The first wave peak was 750...

Florida so no. Other than mask mandate, wouldn't even know if was happening

By cases, yes. Although Florida wasn't bad at all in April and our peak was June/July. We are way under our peak now but higher than April (where numbers were very low)

The hospital I work at has already far surpassed the number of COVID cases it had in any previous month.

The current number of patients in the hospital is more than double the highest number prior to November.

Yup. Cases are higher now than in April. We've had 3 people test positive at work with 2 of them being from this week alone. Only difference is that things are still open (wouldn't be surprised if Chicago shut things down again though) and that work hasn't slowed down as a result of covid.

Did we ever really shut stuff down in the first place? I don't remember restaurants and stuff ever being officially closed but I didn't really go out much in March-June to check.

On a personal level, it seems the same. I had one COVID scare about a month ago when a friend of a friend got sick after I had visited them for a couple hours.

I did return to attending the gym, albeit I have to bring and mostly wear a mask.

The worst time was actually in the summer because *ALL* my work got cancelled. It's starting to come back now, which means I need to call unemployment soon and tell them.

Yes and no. I moved out of a major city and into a smaller one, so there are fewer cases, but there's also no taking it seriously anymore. Case numbers are way higher than they've ever been here and no one is doing anything. The south pretty much is just resigned to people getting sick and dying and just moving on.

I think it's worse for us. But compared to March/April/May when we were the early hotspot for the nation vs now when I think we are now 45th out of 50 states for cases by population and 42nd for Deaths by population. I think we feel like we are doing better because everyone else around us is failing so miserably.

Kind of. Restaurants were carry out only for the ones that were open. But others places like the beaches, parks, bars, etc. were closed. With the weather getting colder I doubt it'll be that big of a deal if some of those places close again.

Yes, our cases per day in Dallas County TX is equaling or beating our previous worst period, which I think was actually in June or July. April was pretty easy here because our county judge took the virus very seriously and ordered shutdowns. Then our governor forced everywhere to open and we got wrecked.

In April it was barely even here (Knoxville, TN), though testing was also shit so the numbers could have been worse. We didn't start getting it terrible until July. Had a few spikes since then and now we're basically in the middle of a spike but it's not as severe as others have been. Well, yet.
