Straightforwards. Should Biden continue the trade war Trump started using, presumably, similar tactics? If not should he change tactics or should he look to end it?

He probably has to or China won't ever take the US seriously again. Foreign Policy should be relatively consistent between Presidents (which is one of Trump's many failures).

That said it should be refocused as an international effort, with emphasis on halting China's human rights abuses, rather than telling Xi concentration camps are great and parroting the CCP narrative on Hong Kong.

That's gonna be hard. Not even the muslims seem to care about the muslims in China and every company knows how badly China treats its citizens for decades now.

It would be extremely hard but it's something that should be done. If it was committed to it would easily be the defining policy of the Biden Presidency.

Trump's trade war with China was launched for the wrong reasons and in the wrong ways, but it was a bullet going broadly in the direction we should be shooting. Given that the band aid has been peeled back a bit, and China's reputation is at its lowest point in decades, Biden should follow through.

Well, a drunken cowboy shoots the right bandit twice a day. At high noon and high noon thirty.

Yes he should but I doubt he will.. he will probably take a 10% big guy cut to kill off all tariffs.

We already know he's not. He was bought & paid for before the election, which is why he vowed to undo all of that shit -- despite "criticizing" China -- when he took office.

Take the US seriously? When it just got its paid agent into the White House? You can expect Beijing Biden to put on the kids gloves when it comes to China, with a lot of "Yes, sir", "No, sir", and "Whatever you say, sir"

There's a lot of fucked up shit that the world should be pushing China to fix, but you aren't going to get that from a guy whose son was being funneled money from the CCP.

Reminder that the only reason Zeus keep tying these embarrassing accusations to Hunter is because he knows if he accused Biden directly nobody would ever take him seriously again.

His only lifeline is that literally zero people care about what Hunter Biden is or is not doing because he's not the fucking President.

Sometimes you have to take the ball and leave if other people aren't going to play nice. China does not play nice. The benefit is that China knew under Trump, America would do that. It's hard to negotiate when you can't give a flat out no. As Blightzkrieg points out, Biden probably has to continue this approach or risk valuable credibility.

Biden should focus on reuniting the trading partners in NATO. NATO should then push China around in sanctions to stop with their bullshit of the "South China sea" Taiwan, HK, genocide etc.

Didn't both parties support the trade war though? Like, one of the very few things they both agreed upon?

Pretty much this. Trump's approach of putting tariffs on a random assortment of goods was so directionless that it really didn't send a clear message about how China had to shape up to get on better terms with the US. There needs to be a focus on labour conditions and environmental impact (two of the major ways China cuts corners to be attractive to companies looking to outsource manufacturing) in any tariffs or sanctions that are levied, directly targeting the problems (such tariffs can also be made more general to prevent companies from simply moving their manufacturing to a less regulated country and repeating the whole process again) while not hurting companies that want to engage China for other advantages (such as the fact that their sheer population size makes it easier to find specialists to employ, for tasks that require a very specialized workforce).

Getting American boots on the ground to survey their various alleged (most likely true) human rights abuses is also in order. The UN's on the fence about such measures, but the US taking some initiative would really help spur that along and lay the groundwork for international pressure on China to get is act together.

Enjoy having literally no new electronics. Given how vital China is to global commerce, cutting them out cold turkey like that would be completely insane.
