Forcing the price to be lower sounds like it goes against those wishes. You also can't really "shop around" if you got stabbed and need surgery. You get taken to whoever is closest, and they fix you up. What if afterwards you find out they charge double or triple what the doctor in the next town over charges? That's kinda why regulation is a good thing in this industry. Your body isn't like a car where you can just get a quote on it from a mechanic and then call around to see if people can do better.

And quickly on your point of youtube vs articles - articles are always faster to go through in terms of amount of information vs time. First, youtube videos tend to try and be more entertaining (and thus less relevant), and second, people talk slower than they read. If you gave me a transcript of the YouTube video, it would be literally faster for me to read that than it would be to watch the video. The main reason people hate youtube videos for stuff like this though is the sensationalist takes that aren't as common in written articles (which is part of why you probably don't like articles as much, as sensationalism is often more entertaining... It's why they do it)

Coincidentally, the cost of health insurance is lowest when the average risk of members buying health insurance is lowest. I.e. when everyone is required to be covered even if they think they're healthy and won't need insurance ( la individual mandate), insurance premiums will be lower.

This isn't even getting to the point that individuals cannot accurately predict whether they will need health care in the future

I disagree. Though, if you want them to spend less on the military, its companies you should be mad at. Whenever the military buys something, its cost an insane amount. A single screw for over a dollar, and you have to buy in bulk. Shit is ridiculous. The only reason they have to give so much to the military is everyone else tried to fuck them out of money. And they still have to pay all employees, so...

Actually, I think it is a luxury. Many people get around easily by walking or biking. And a lot of places have public transport. Its even free in some places. Here, people pay, but can get it free based on certain things...

The problem there is when an insurance company refuses to pay for it, you can still get it. In a socialized system, it'd be the government not letting you have it under any circumstances and, in some cases, blocking you from getting it in another country.

That's a lot of gibberish all strung together. However, it's worth noting that most of those examples aren't the same country, there are differing standards of care, and the ability to do it in one place doesn't necessarily mean it's doable in other places (and no, it's not just a "wealth" issue).

Keep in mind that the strongest opponents of universal healthcare weren't "corporations", they were doctors and medical associations.

People who don't understand fascism could use a proper explanation.

For example, fascism is more in line with 'corporate oligarchy' than a defacto dictatorship... the problem is that the military is typically a nation's largest corporate entity making them the defacto leadership.

Under completely neutral conditions Fascism is the ultimate form of democracy, since your purchasing choices affect the balance of power between the corporations in charge and the only way they can sway voters is either through superior products or superior employment

There are no premiums here. Just heavy taxes. And they spend it frivolously. Most higher-end admin positions are in the low- to mid-six-figure range for no reason. Its being talked about in the news here right now. Its part of the reason dental, eye, prescription meds etc. arent covered here.
