Not Avengers per say, but Marvel Ultimate Alliance was a pretty great game, that involved a lot of Marvel's finest!

Yeah, my perfect Avengers game would basically just be MUA swapped into a more traditional third person action game. Seems fairly simple.

It's strange because Crystal Dynamics are great at big detailed cinematic games like Tomb Raider. Why didn't they just do that here? Should have gone SP campaign only and really made something amazing.

The live service aspect hurt the game. It was obviously designed to be a single player experience that got shifted to be a multiplayer destiny style looting game midway in its production. The story mode vs the other side mission just shows as much.

More inspired character designs, a fully fleshed out lenghty (25 hr+) campaign and this wouldve sold twice that. Maybe add online components later, but my hype died when I found it was mainly a multiplayer online game.

It seemed fun but got pretty boring because the first couple of missions seemed like the same shit again and again. So I stopped playing.

Though I don't understand the "games as a service" thing. What's missing that requires more money?

I got it for free from my cell carrier as some promotion, lol. It's... okay? I would've been annoyed if I paid $60 for it or whatever, but I like comic booky stuff and it was sort of fun the little I played of it--but it feels like a budget game, no way it should've had the massive budget it apparently did.

Cosmetics, emotes, new finishers and if you want to hurry up and unlock stuff from a characters "season pass" card. Otherwise the new dlc characters that get released are free.... too bad they missed the deadline for it lol.

Games as a service isn't it's problem. It's simply not fun to play. The missions and gameplay are incredibly mediocre. Multiplayer doesn't really gain anything from playing with others. Leveling up takes too long and there's no point in really upgrading gear or trying to create a certain build because you'll outgrow it in two missions. It was buggy af at launch. Even the bull of the cosmetics are terrible. A slightly different colored Hulk is not a rewarding thing to earn. There's a lot that went wrong here.

How anyone played through the hours of tutorials in the single player is beyond me. Running around collecting comics as a little girl. Tutorials for every single character back to back. Then a tutorial level on how to jump, climb and sneak. It's the most frustrating start to a game I've ever played.
