First, as always, I have to preface this topic by saying that if you are looking for an excuse to pick apart the hypothetical, then this topic isnt for you. i get real bored trying to drill down to the finest detail with you dum dums.

So the situation is this:

Money is no object. Youve got Bezos levels of wealth, or you have a wealthy benefactor willing to cover the expense or whatever else makes you comfortable.

Legality is no issue. A law was passed last night that makes consensual cannibalism 100% legal.

Average Joe has some sort of internal damage to his hip that is going to require his leg amputated or he dies. Everything below the hip is totally fine (or at least as fine as human meat can be).

Average Joe offers to sell you his amputated leg for whatever sum of money makes you comfortable, or just decides to give it to you for whatever reason makes you comfortable.

The meal will be prepared by a world class chef (think Hannibal Lector level culinary talent, minus the homicidal tendencies) or again, whoever makes you comfortable.

You gonna try that people meat?

Provided it's genuinely consensual and it's healthy tissue (which seems to the the tl;dr of your scenario description), I'd try it. I doubt it would really compare to most livestock meat, given that livestock tends to be raised specifically for its meat quality and humans generally aren't, but for curiosity's sake, it'd be good enough.

dont mistake me, i would never try nonconsensual cannibalism, but i am genuinely curious what we taste like, so if i had a shot like this i would totally take it without hesitation

in this instance, i would say assume the chef responsible for preparing the dish or dishes would be pretty well versed, and know exactly which cooking methods lent themselves the best toward human meat

Id be willing to try it but i dont expect id like it. For your second scenario id definitely go for the neighbors first.

That would be hard. Cause my willingness to eat human would likely require the same thing for my willingness to eat cat or dog, and that's that I didnt know them when they where alive.

I've never found even the thought of eating human flesh appealing. Biting is fine. Hell I don't even mind the taste of blood but the rest nah.

Its not meeting them thats the problem. Its simply knowing them. Ive never really met any of mine except one. But i see them in their yards living what seems to be decent lives and that would go through my mind as I ate them and ruin any ability to enjoy it.

Whole bucket of nope. Im fairly wimpy with foods. Wouldn't eat squid or hagas. I don't even like things like alligator or lamb so I'm not eating people. Hard pass.

Nah. Not for me. As much as I'd love to visit Scotland and I actually have a cousin up there that's something I'd give a miss. I wouldn't even eat duck or pigeon too and don't like most seafood.

I don't want to find out I really like it.

Just had a thought. Is this preparation with the skin on or off? Because personally I'd prefer my meat without the skin, but I think it'd be cool opportunity to commemorate the occasion by having the skin fashioned into a personal keepsake. Like a book cover, a handbag, or perhaps a tasteful lampshade.
