I'm not informed at all about this, I just know someone who said the doctor told them not to get tested because they had so few symptoms.

That's how it was with me, just a progressively sorer throat until the fever hit a few days later. I mean, it's just as likely to only be a sore throat or a cold, but it's stupid to bet your health. If you can't get to a hospital, at least be prepared with medicine and easy-to-digest food.

I had sniffles for a couple days, and than a continuous cough all day today. Sore throat before that. Im im the same boat as you tc <_<

Just dont go to a hospital unless you need urgent care. That is how a virus easily is spread to others and how healthcare services get overwhelmed.

If you leave your home, make sure to avoid contact with people. It doesnt matter if its covid or the common cold - infections need to be kept down in general since the common cold can be bad for elderly and some other risk groups. Right now healthcare services need all the help they can get (aka people who are sick but not in poor condition staying home).

probably not drinking enough fluid. sometimes i get the dry mouth/sore throat feeling until i drink enough water/liquids.
then again maybe that isn't the solution if that's being fulfilled already.

How long ago was this? I was really sick but didn't have a fever high enough (99.9, requirement was 100.4) at my doctor's appointment so they couldn't give me a Covid test. But that was back in April, I got sick again in June with just a sore throat and cough and was able to get a test that day. It was negative.

Sore throat isn't enough to go running to the hospital or getting tested. Monitor your temperature and see if you develop any other symptoms before you start to worry. Loss of taste/smell, breathing difficulties, etc.
