Wanna know something more depressing, even if Biden wins the Trump tax cuts expire next year right on time for all the poor people's taxes to go up while the rich have there's forever meaning Biden will get the blame for it, the public will think Biden raised taxes thanks to the media and react accordingly and with corvid still ravaging the country he'll get the blame for that, too as republicans suddenly care about the death tool, and should republicans hold the senate that stimulus package democrats have been promising flat out won't come so we'll have increased taxes, unkept promises and still have a deadly virus in the air, the public will regain their apaathy, republicans will pounce on that, take Congress and pass all sorts of fuck you bills that'll will be rammed through by mitch the bitch should the republicans hold or die in the senate as dems start wearing the obstruction bracelet again, Biden's term ends to a republican tool bag and suddenly the corruption goes even harder than ever, it'll probably be Trump Jr

No, I don't. There are 2 candidates and therefore either/or always has a pretty decent chance. Definitely not 99% to 1%

It'll be Tom Cotton. He has been positioning himself to fill Trump's authoritarian shoes all year long.

I like Joe Biden. And he's a great "bridge" candidate for moderates and seniors who voted for Trump in 2016 - to come back to reality and vote for somebody moderate so that we can turn the ship around and go into the right direction.

He's not Bernie Sanders - but that's the point.

That isn't how probabilities work.

For example, if the two candidates are Donald Trump and a monkey in a suit, do you really think the odds of Donald Trump winning wouldn't be 99%?

the depressing isn't that it's close, because it's not, the depressing part is that the DNC needed obama to ensure biden didn't lose super tuesday like he lost 3 of the 4 previous primaries and we're stuck with such a fucking shit candidate in the DNC's second free election. Sadly covid happened to give the population to actually vote unlike 2016, where faced with two awful choices most people went "meh, i'm not going out, hillarys going to win and everyone always tells me my vote doesn't matter"

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/tx/texas_trump_vs_clinton-5694.html

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/texas/

there is nothing similar to 2016 beyond the DNC being incompetent.

we can tell that by biden winning plurality's not majorities in most states before covid causes bernie to react quicker to stopping rallies and thens topping campaigning completly while warren and bernie were splitting after obama needed biden's opponents to drop out so biden wouldn't keep finishing 3rd or worse?

if biden is what the people wanted, the DNC wouldn't have needed to intervened. Biden is what the DNC wanted, because dear god we make the corporate daddies angry by actually trying to help people first. There's a reason why you never hear anyone say, "i'm so happy to be voting for biden, his policies are so great, i especially like how he wants to ensure medical bills are absurdly high during a global epidemic by refusing medicare for all" it's always, "I don't like biden, but uggg, can't let trump win"

Biden isn't necessarily what the people wanted, but there wasn't a strong moderate candidate before Super Tuesday

Primary delegates are based on vote % and state population, not plurality victories, and Biden emerged as the clear leader after Super Tuesday.

You're kidding yourself.

He gives jaded and bigoted Americans a cult of personality to follow. It has nothing to do with him being a good person or this or that.

He just validates and vilifies that pile of voters.

Weird since all his plurality victories are what got him. And the DNC needed to intervene to save him.

The lengths people will go to convience themself of false realities. "The lone moderate was getting less than 50% of votes so that means people wanted a moderate!"

Um no actually, he wasn't the only moderate candidate. Bloomberg was there for a bit and got some votes, remember him? Plus the candidates who dropped out did get some votes still.

In the weeks following Super Tuesday, Biden won majorities in Michigan Florida and Illinois among other states and there was no more question who the winner was.

2016

1) Hillary did not have a "99% chance of winning"

2) 2016 was a statistical anomaly because many of the people that wanted her to win (or more likely, wanted Trump to lose) didn't vote. 2020 is a completely different ballgame, with historic turnout already (thus we're less likely to see any massive deviations on Election Day) and improvements made to polling because of 2016. For the record, even if the difference between the polls and actual Election Day resembled 2016, Biden would still be out ahead. Basically, our polls would have to be even more inaccurate than 2016 for us to see such an upset.

Of course, all of this is ignoring the GOP's attempts to rig the election, so Trump could very well win anyway through cheating.
