So Im from the UK. Has the US government not protected businesses? Im the UK the government has paid 80% of salaries and provided bailouts to struggling businesses.

Yeah. They were going to start filming in September, but I heard they pushed it back to March. So with all the editing and other post production stuff it's going to be a looooooooooonnnnngggggggg wait. It might be worth it, but still.

I had been performing stand up comedy for about a year and a half. I was starting to get pretty good at it. I had two full notebooks full of jokes I had been writing.

I don't know when I will ever perform stand up again. I don't exactly feel safe. I honestly haven't even written a single joke since the pandemic began. It just killed my interest in writing comedy.

I had video taped a few of my sets pre pandemic, but wasn't really happy with the video and audio quality and wanted my performance to be a bit better.

I have audio recordings of every single set I've ever performed and many of those sound pretty great and I've thought about sharing them.

As far as creating a YouTube channel to perform comedy for... Yeah idk. I mean, I think it'd be hard to make stand up work in that format. I'm not really into creating sketches. I've thought about it, but I guess it just doesn't interest me enough.

I want to create a YouTube channel, but one for talking about roller coasters and amusement parks. That is also on hold due to covid lol

Bigger ones maybe. For these ones, their doors are currently shuttered. A few of the locations have been bought out already. (2 of them by car dealers and a bar that everyone i know frequented since the early 90s was bought out by a taco truck.)

My industry went from booming to being put on life support. Ive been retained the whole time but, without going into all the details, it sucks and my career progress has basically been put on hold til people at large calm the fuck down.

No danger of losing my job. Job actually got better because people got spread out and I have to deal with fewer coworkers.

People keeping their kids inside so parks and hiking trails are much less crowded

That most of my MA grad school experience will end up being online. Hoping against hope that ill be able to teach in person next Fall but well see.

Knoxville has had a pretty grounded and popular local comedy scene that's grown over the last decade or so. It's completely dead now.

Worst? Probably nothing. Covid has not negatively effected me. Hell had Mitch McConnell passed another stimulus bill, Covid would have been very much great for me.

Fortunately, I haven't caught covid yet, but the pandemic has completely disrupted my personal life. I lost a lot of weight doing crossfit and was doing really well at getting better at that. Then I stopped going because it wasn't worth the risk. I've lost strength in the past 8 months or so and gained some weight back. Kinda sucks.

Can't go hang out with my friends either.

Trying to convince my parents to stay the fuck at home. They keep having my kid cousin come to stay with them, they go out to eat with people, they visit my brothers, my mom delivers jewelry to people and lets people pick it up at her house, etc.

Both of my parents are in poor health. Both diabetic. My mom is extremely asthmatic and her doctor outright told her earlier this year that Covid would kill her. She already has problems breathing just from simple exertion like sweeping the floor. They're not even crazy Trump supporters who think it's all a hoax, they just don't fucking bother.

It pushed my ex out of the office and into working from home which in turn gave me no time to myself during quarantine and aided in speeding up the process of our eventual demise.

Being from East TN I was trying to figure out how I had never heard of Knoxville having a comedy scene, and then I realized it's been more than 10 years since I've lived in East TN.

I was actually pretty fortunate. I'm really shy and hate trying to go out and talk to people anyway...and the job I do is self-employment where I do landscaping/light construction for older people where I'm totally isolated and free to do my job without worrying about making anyone sick or bringing something home. (as a 31 year old with a perfect immune I'm not worried about myself getting sick, just spreading it to others)

I do understand the frustration though. A lady I work for who's 66 and really nice is super-social and can keep her mouth running non-stop when someone is around. She hates the isolation part but I've been working for her since march and we enjoy talking to each other so that's helped her a lot having someone there. She actually got the virus last month (virtually no symptoms, swift recovery) from a family reunion and now has strong antibodies so she's getting out a lot more now.

It's not going to go on forever guys there's light at the end of this tunnel no matter who wins this election crap. I know it's a bitch but that's life. We'll make it!

Not being able to see certain friends and family in person. I generally dont mind chilling at home but Im over not being able to choose to just hit up a movie with my friends or my dad or something.

Its gotten better but there was a period in time where it was Covid news 24/7 with no new tv shows or movies to watch and all the sports were cancelled. That was the worst part. Where you locked in, no friends wanted to hang out and only distraction I had was Netflix.

Now there is football and soccer to watch and the entertainment industry is releasing movies/shows again.

My spring vacation with my close friends. One of them works in the military and had to request that week off 6 months in advance just to see it canceled.

Having to cancel all my plans. I was going to go on vacation with my parents back in May, our first vacation in 9 years as a family. That got cancelled. I actually didnt see my parent for more than 6 months after this shit started despite only living 3 hours away. My nephew is growing up so fast and Ive missed out on seeing him.

Concerts I had tickets to got cancelled, havent been able to go to NBA games or pro wrestling or nascar races, and I really miss sit down restaurants.

Daily life at home hasnt really changed much, though. And I played a lot more video games during the months that sports were put on hold.

Interacting with idiots who don't understand it and don't take it seriously.
