He was one of the cops who was at the raid in a no knock warrant to search her home in connection to a "drug probe" of her ex bf He insists he and the other officers did nothing wrong and knocked to announce themselves despite the warrant being a no knock He said Kenneth Walker, her bf in the apartment opened fire on them and Breonna was killed in that crossfire Mattingly told Michael Strahan that the "good cops" do not racial profile but criminally profile and said just because black people may feel that police hate them or fear them because of their race, it's "not necessarily real" all the time Strahan was incensed during the interview and pushed back those claims He insists that had the cops gone ahead without announcing themselves, Breonna would still be alive because walker wouldn't have had time to get his gun and said a no knock would have SAVED people's lives And while he doesn't want sympathy, he says he too is a "victim" because was excruciating to be silent while celebrities, politicians and millions called them racists murderers On Criminal profiling he said police "knows the area" and you can tell by the people's demeanors and people don't make eye contact which tells them something bad is going on there and skin colour doesn't "affect" their job When it turns to George Floyd, he said what happened was "horrible" and "wrong" and said the cops should be charged, then says he wasn't a MODEL CITIZEN had the drug Fentanyl played a heavy part in his death He said "I didn't say he deserved it, i just demonized it, it's horrible". He's now begging for mercy from the Taylor family and the public to not paint them as racists and said this was a tragic mistake but not a racist killing.
