- roughly 92 grams of canned tuna, stored in spring water, on a bed of iceberg lettuce

- roughly 100 grams of nuts to snack on. Currently salted cashews, and then onto unroasted almonds

- at least 1.5 litres of water

- a grapefruit every few days

I had some pizza today because it had to be cooked, but I did some extra exercise to account for that.

I heard that lean proteins and fibre are the way to weight loss, on top of exercise. At the moment, I've just got what I have laying around the house. I'm looking for inexpensive food items that are high in protein and fibre - if you guys have any suggestions, I'm all ears.

How would you rate that diet for weight loss? No carbs, minimal fat, a bit of salt and oil with the nuts.

Isn't that like 600-700 calories per day? I'm just guessing, but that's wayyyy too low.

Get a calorie counting app that calculates how much you need to eat for your goals based off of your size and activity level.

There's definitely a chance that this diet has a caloric intake that's way too low, but I figure that if I stick to this diet for a couple of weeks, I can shed a few kilos and get to a point where it's easier to work the weight off with a more robust diet.

I'd be open to eating other foods for a more nutritionally balanced diet, but right now I'm worried about belly fat. That's got to be the first thing to go - my calves are hard as rock, and my thighs are at a pretty manageable size. The thing that blows my entire figure is my stomach. So I figure if I eat a strict, limited diet for a few weeks, I'll shed the softer fat - and then the harder fat underneath can be managed with a more robust diet and with regular exercise.

Nah man, you need to reach the bare minimum regardless of your goals. I think it's 1500 calories for men.

Starving yourself never works. You gain back the weight and usually more once you stop.

You're gonna feel like total shit by tomorrow.

Lean protein, complex carbs(in moderation) and avoid anything with sugar

Of you can do that and excersise regularly you will lose weight and you won't have to starve yourself

Unless youre severely malnourished and are willing to adhere to it, its not really worth worrying about in a first world nation.

What's the calorie count and how fat (not an insult) are you? Unless you're very morbidly obese (again, not an insult), dieting to under a thousand calories a day isn't a very good idea. That can atrophy your metabolism and make weight loss more difficult, possibly even damaging your muscles.

Go on occasional walks and try to aim at 1200-1500 calories per day, making sure you reasonably balance your nutritional needs, and you'll lose weight.

your not going to lose weight proper like this.... I was eating 900 calories while dieting, and got stuck at 282, not losing anything. Now I added another meal to my diet and I'm losing weight again. Just stick to the 1500 calories, and exercise. Lift weights, or do a program like DDP Yoga.

Alright. I've gotten a lot of feedback from you guys, and it's pretty much unanimous that this diet isn't feasible.

I appreciate the feedback.
