Poll of the Day > Anyone know why Steam doesn't have Phantasy Star 1?

It has 2-4, but 1 is missing. Does Sega not have the rights to it for some reason?

Also, if I start playing the series from 2, am I going to be confused?

I believe they are separate storylines with loose references that take place hundreds if not thousands of years apart.

Might be part of a sega collection. There's a sega ages version thats kind of updated too.

Oh, so they're kind of like FF games in that regard. I hope the PS games are good, I heard good things, but some older games are not good to play, and people see them with rose tinted glasses too much.

Honestly though later phantasy star games added more, I still liked 2 the most out of all of them. It's still a great game worth playing even today.

Also it was VERY simple (Still cool though), with just a hp bar for enemies that you knocked down etc. It wasn't as advanced as Final Fantasy 1 basically, so your not missing much at all by not playing it (especially today....PS 2 is probably hard enough for people today to play fresh (without nostalgia etc), but PS1 is a whole different story.

Master System was indeed where it was. You can play it in the PS3 / 360 collection as an unlockable, or on the Switch as one of the Ages games with some enhancements. I recommend it there if you can.
