To our players: every day we fight to make the best game possible for our community. We have a great community management team at Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix who funnel all of your concerns, suggestions, and feedback to the development team daily. We are listening. We are making fixes, improvements, and additions as fast as we safely can to make Marvels Avengers the game we all aspire it to be.

As such, we have a number of new content pieces coming in the weeks ahead including: a totally new War Zone mission type called Tachyon Rifts, a new Outpost thats a jumping off point for new story missions in the future, and AIMs Cloning Lab, which requires a coordinated high-level group of four players to beat with new top-end loot rewards for finishing it. And in each of these updates we do tuning and bug fixing to enhance the overall experience.

In addition, weve announced two new Heroes coming in the near future: Kate Bishop in Operation: Taking AIM, and after that the double-feature Operation starring Clint Barton this is the two Hawkeyes we mentioned in the last War Table. These new Operations pick up right from where the main Reassemble campaign ended in the core game and will propel the overall world story forward with new mysteries and villains, as well as new multi-player content.

Lastly, we will continue to add new content to the game in the coming months as we address issues and overall game balance, including loot distribution and quality of life features everyone is clamoring for to improve our day-to-day experience from accessibility to co-op communication tools to balancing the economy!

We are confident that well see PC players (as well as those on Xbox One and PlayStation 4) return to the game as we add exciting new late-game content and demonstrate that we continue to be focused on improving the game.

Well have more information and details about the very near content drops in a blog scheduled for next week and we have new community communication initiatives coming soon to even more directly share fun and useful information with you.

Avengers has already dipped below 1000 concurrent players on PC and seems to be ranked the 43rd most played game on Xbox currently. So yeah not looking good.

It's honestly pretty crazy how quick that bubble burst. I don't really remember the last 'Big budget always online looter game' actually met expectations. Division 1?

They're all getting slapped down by battle royale and cheapo multiplayer games.

Genshin Impact just came out and made over 60 million dollars with less than half the content of Avengers while also being free to play.

That's gotta be a part of it too. Why bother paying $60 for a game that might dry up support quick when you've got free to play stuff like Fortnite, Warzone and Genshin or small cheap games like Among Us and Fall Guys?

Ironically these big publishers all thought single player stuff was dying when it looks like $60 games as a service multiplayer titles are dying even quicker.

I'm amazed that they screwed it up as hard as it did. Marvel should print money in 2020 and considering how big the movies are, you'd think the devs would be more inspired.

I lost all interest the moment I saw that they weren't actually using the movies' actors for the character likenesses. That made it instantly clear to me that they were being as cheap as possible and it was going to be a pure garbage cash-grab. Games as a Service can work well, especially in a universe as expansive as Marvel's, but it takes actual effort and investment that they obviously weren't willing to put in.

Bad timing, should have been released before Endgame came out. Also character exclusives, and a lot of paid options for cosmetic DLC is a turnoff.

I'll get it when it's inevitably on sale for under $20.

Glad I waited on this if multiplayer content is that fucking boring and repetitive.

As I mentioned before I'm pretty much just waiting until Spider-Man's released. Maybe then the multiplayer content would be halfway decent, and I can get it at a discount for the single-player.

I wold buy it for the single player on sale, but apparently that's like half boring multiplayer style missions to get people used to the format. But that other half is supposed to be pretty good.

Yeah, ignoring the fact the game looks boring I'd put this more on Disney than Square Enix/Crystal Dynamics. An Avengers game should have existed like five years ago they really decided to strike while the iron was room temperature. Even 2 years ago it'd be an insta buy for me despite whether it was good, now I really don't give af about the MCU anymore.

Spiderman isnt designed from its very corr to look like an MCU game and tjen cheap out on the likeness of the characters.

Ive still been playing it almost daily. Just got my last character to the level cap (not the gear score cap, just the leveling skill unlock cap.)

Theres enough of a foundation here that they can definitely build out something truly great, its just a question of how long they stick with it. Im looking forward to the Hawkeye content, the campaign story was enjoyable so Im hopeful were getting more.

I guess MODOK counts during of his boss phases. Three villains is still laughable. Even Arkham Asylum had around 7 villains or so show up and that game came out years ago. Ultimate Alliance 3 had a great roster of villains, too.

Part of the appeal of these super games is seeing all these iconic villains show up and battle the heroes. Stripping that from the base game and making it a live service takes away from the superhero experience.

Absolutely NOBODY wanted all this loot and gear bullcrap. When I think of "things I want in an Avengers game", the LAST THING that comes to mind is cycling through menu's to compare meaningless numbers of equipment pieces.

This game is even more of a soulless cash grab than Star Wars Battlefront II at launch.

Man, its anthem and no mans lie all over again.

It should be a rule in creative media: Dead characters have no value.

Nobody wants to play a video game about a character who is canonically dead. Nobody wants to read a book about a deceased character's history. Nobody wants a prequel detailing what a dead character did 20 minutes before the first movie in which he or she was still alive.

I mean, yeah, absolutely. There's some audience for that. But it's the audience that gravitates toward anything extended universe Star Wars which claims to be canon. It's not going to grab the mainstream crowds.

The characters are popular because of the movies. The comics were always a niche audience.

It's like comparing Dwayne Johnson to The Rock. Sure, he's known as that wrestler who became a movie star, but he has a larger audience working for Disney than working for a wrestling promotion.
