Even the Waterways has Dung Defender and Godhome, which could tech count as its own area but I guess it's just a hub world for boss rushes. Ancient Basin would be a contender if The Abyss and White Palace were included as part of it, without them it's pretty low tier. Entering City of Tears was the first time I realised I was experiencing something truly special with this game. Also it's packed full of so much content, you have the main open city area, the Soul Sanctum, Collector's area etc and atmosphere wise it can't be topped with Marissa, the rain falling from the lake above and the statue. The music is 10/10 but then so is pretty much every other track in the game. Fungal Wastes was so much better than I expected it to be, probably one of the liveliest and 'friendliest' areas in Hallownest, it always felt nice travelling through here. Plus all the mantis stuff. Kingdom's Edge is underrated imo, the shedding Wyrm corpse and constantly falling corpses from the Colosseum, plus the Hornet fight, Bardoon, buncha cool lore and the most terrifying enemy in the game (Primal Aspid ofc). The music is also amazing. Shout out to Deepnest which is absolutely up there, don't know how they managed to accomplish such a sense of dread with a game like this. God I love this game.
