Him raging about CDPR using streamers as marketing is amazing too. He's really just mad that he's not relevant enough to be given that sort of treatment.

Yeah I caught that bit too. And I think it's great that people give away stuff for their viewers. Granted, it's also a bit of marketing, but imagine making someone's Christmas unforgettabke because you gave them a free console. I think that is amazing.

But remember, this is the very same guy that did give aways of fucking gamr boxes, but traded in the actual games. He included his signature under the belief that it would be worth something.

That is the kind of delusion we are working with here. Phil only ever looks what he doesn't have, instead of being appreciative of what he does have.

His "review" is just an hour long ramble. There is absolutely no structure to his "review", he is all over the place and very hard to follow. He tries to make a point but fails to do so every time.

To be honest, I am not going to watch an hour long review from anyone, especially not from Phil. It's hilarious though, that Phil believes his opinion carries weight and that he believes even ABOVE that, that watching his review is mandatory in order to have a conversation with him about the game.

How delusional do you h ave to be? Phil honestly believes here that any opinion other than his own is wrong, and unless you watch his video, he won't even try to have a civil conversation. He will resort to namecalling as he always does: idiots, brainwashed, moron, etc.

This is also why no one in the games industry takes him seriously. He is utterly and completely incapable of civil discourse, hell, even friendly banter is something he cannot handle. Why on earth would any company send a person who cannot handle any opinion different from his own a review copy? All that surrounds Phil is negativity, and that is not something anyone wants to be associated with. It's not just that Phil is "the guy", shit happens. Just laugh and move on.

The problem is that when you invoke the name "DarkSydePhil", it conjures up a myriad of reactions, but none of them are positive. It's either "the guy", the scammer who didn't deliver on his crowfunding goals (Project 7), the guy who needs stream to hold his hand, the guy who only talks negatively about other streamers, the guy who shits all over devs, etc.

No matter what angle you use, I guarantee you, if you let ANYONE watch Phil, who hasn't seen him before, for 5 minutes they'll just click away. Phil often wants to debunk whatever is happening. But the core problem is that any association made with Phil, is a negative one.

Also, some site has given statistics on streamers, like who made the most money for example.

Funnily enough, Phil was mentioned too. It stated that on average, per subscriber Phil gets 35 dollars. While the highest number after that is 22 dollars per subscriber.

That means, especially compared to bigger streamers, Phil makes over 50% more per subscriber. Which proves that he is being kept afloat by whales.

This was mentioned in Phil's chat, and though he started out saying he was thankful for the positivity, he immediatly moved to dismiss it, saying the information was outdated/incorrect.

Whether it is true or not is irrelevent if you ask me, what is interesting is everytime someone sheds light on Phil's invome, he will immediatly try to obfuscate it. Which is far more tellingto me.

Dsp got invaded in the old monk fight by this Japanese streamer called pinrinpan. On pinrin's stream he was laughing and having fun while phil was whining and being toxic.

Also, one thing I always enjoy seeing is soma julius cruz's thumbnails. He always manages to sneak in kfc and gin somewhere.

OnlyIcedCoffee dropped another sub-bomb of 40 subs, to hit the goal of 900. I want to take a second to appreciate how insane that is. Phil struggles to break 300 concurrent viewers regularly, but averages 3 subs per viewer.

So yes, that site that I refered to, which pointed out that Phil is being kep afloat by a couple of whales is proven to be right from stuff like this.

Phil blamed his viewers for the lengthy pre-steam, because they kept asking questions. No mention of the fact that he bitched for a solid 30 minutes about the game awards. He then went on a break and said he hoped that his viewers enjoy the break.

Why though? The break is for him, not his viewers.

Aaaand OnlyIcedCoffee dropped another 40 subs to hit the stretch goal of 950 for DSP Tries It. For refference, just today OIC dropped 400 dollars on Phil in subs. He is basically the new Tut, trying to buy modship and attempting to pressure Phil into play SFV.

Ah, as it turns out, Phil just lost 10 subs and is at 942. Too bad OIC. Organic growth here folks, so many gifted subs not being renewed.

Jesus this is pathetic, OIC now also gifted the remaining 10 subs. Phil actually responded.by saying he is only 47 subs away from a 1.000, but quickly followed it up by saying "just kidding".

Phil was fighting the Old Monk again in Demon's Souls. The first 3 fights he was matched against someone from 7 years ago. They gave Phil all kinds of items including healing items, but probably got annoyed from Phil only circlestrafing and killed him in 2 hits. This happened 3 times.

The fourth time Phil was matched with someone and they disconneted, leaving Phil to fight the NPC version of the boss and easily winning. Chat wasn't having it and railed on Phil for a solid 30 minutes. Phil rebutted that if they wanted to be angry, they should direct that anger to FROM Software for making a shitty netcode and not updating it in years.

What Phil COULD have done, was reload the game, so someone else could be the monk. But he didn't. This whole situation could have been avoided if he wasn't a litteral bitch. But instead he choose the easy win.

And OnlyIcedCoffee managed to push Phil to 1.000 subs, so today he dropped close 150 subs, which translates to 750 dollars in just one day. Phil's chat fucking hates OIC though. I don't think I have ever seen anyone be this loathed by his viewers.

SuperBlindMan actually stepped in on Twitter, telling Phil to let it go, regarding his bitchfights about TLOU2. It's really something to behold.

Only to have it replaced in the recent picture. Hs replaced a 700 dollar coffee machinr for which he had no money, with a new coffee machine for which he has no money.

Phil also adopted a new buzz phrase: "meaningful gameplay". In his fight against, well... everything. This is in an attempt to set himself apart from other streamers. No fucking clue what "meaningful gameplay" is though. It's just Phil making himself more important than he is.

So many things are so weird when you look at numbers and Phil:

He has 190.000 subscribes on Youtube, but often struggles to break 1.000 views on a video.

Close to 26.000 followers on Twitter, but on average gets 20-30 likes on a tweet.

Has 100.000 followers on Twitch, struggles to get over 300 concurrent viewers BUT has currently 1.000 subs (which is more than 3 subs per concurrent viewer).

So many things just don't seem to add up here.

But then you have someone who makes over 100.000 dollars per year, but managed to have half a million worth of debt, including 140.000 dollars worth of debt in credit cards alone.

There is one playthrough, which incidently is also one of my favourites, where he just can't complian about dropped inputs: XCom Enemy Unknown.

This playthrough highlights a few key things about Phil, because time isn't an issue during turnbased games. He rarerly, if at all makes use of the tools the game gives him. Nothing that he learned during the turorial is applied in the game.

But most importantly, he literally has no foresight at all. He lumps 4 soldiers together and then is surprised and dismayed that the enemy throws a grenade at him.

Sure he was less "Phil" during that game (before Twitch) but it highlights a lack of critical thinking skills. Which I believe is the same reason he is unable to adapt to his oppenents when playing prettt much any fighting game.

He excepts 'Y' to do 'Z', but when that doesn't happen (which is more often than not), the excuses begin to flow.

CoD also highlights him being unable to play as a team. He has no situational awareness and no object permanence. He'll instantly forget walking through a door, and then when jump complain he got stuck. He'll run blindly ahead, only to complain that his teammates are nowhere to be found.

And even if he ends on top of the scoreboard for his team, which he believes vindicates him, it is still a team game. Instead of working together as a team to win, he'll take his score alone as a reason why he isn't the problem. Which is ironic: if his team wins, it's thanks to him, if his team loses, it's because everyone else.

Which is pretty much his way of thinking regarding anything. A win/succes is his doing. A failure/loss is the fault of everything EXCEPT Phil.

Phil still hasn't elaborated what that "agenda" is though. Look, I would like to see a game win because it is my personal GotY, who doesn't. But Phil has decided that TLOU2 doesn't deserve to win, so anyone not sharing that opinion is a braiwashed moron (his litteral words). A normal conversation about the game hasn't taken place, and Phil outright refuses to listen to anyone with an opinion different than his.

Ironically, the mentality he claims people have wanting TLOU2 to win is the exact same mentality he has wanting it not to win.

He honestly believes that he had a hand in TLOU2 not winning, believing he has any relevance. He also said on stream that he could have gotten CP2077 for free if he bothered to "jump through the hoops".

So here is something that had me wondering, if Phil has people getting him stuff, does it matter where it comes from? Free stuff is free stuff right? But then he becomes a contrarian again, not wanting free stuff because he is "just like us", but he is also clearly upset not getting things for free.

I saw the game awards...Does it really need to be that long? I would have tapped out if i wasn't working on one computer monitor, and watching on the one next to me.

TLOU2...I don't know about best narrative...It has issues with it's writing that are substantial at points and pacing. That said it's story will be remembered for infamy if nothing else.

Also, i gotta give it for the among us devs. They seemed so freaking grateful, so there has to be some genuine things behind the VGA awards beyond the corporate ad bullshit.

But of course...DSP had to be immature about it. You know he wants viral so bad.

Speaking of Cyberpunk 2077, he is going full clownmode with the game. And without as much as a hint of sarcasm, Phil said he the same body type as V (Keanu Reeves).

According to Phil the attributes/skills screen is too complicated, so watch him complain about that for the rest of the playthrough.

The show doesn't get produced without the corporate tie-ins. It's not free to make a show like that. But I do agree it needed to be handled better because it was far too heavy on reveals
