When he agrees to the debate he agrees to abide by the rules of the debate. If he can't control himself he doesn't get to take the stage.

Yes and no, you look for things they say to get an idea of what they'll do. Trumps highlights include:

- claiming mail in voting will lead to upwards of 40% fraud (meaning if he loses by 40% or less, he's gonna fight it)
- outright refused to condemn hate groups/white supremacy
- Directly addressing and commanding the Proud Boys
- Refusal to answer/address topic at hand in favor of attacking Biden's children

I think its defeating the purpose of the debate, giving the moderator, who could be biased in one direction or another, the power to silence a potentially valuable exchange for voters.

We already kind of addressed this-- anyone who doesn't already know Trump's stance on these things wasn't watching a political debate, which is likely always the case, but the scattershot approach and constant interruptions just make it harder for someone who isn't versed on the issues to keep track of what's being said.
