Actually, speaking as someone who grew up in California, I can tell you everyone running the state needs to be replaced overnight, regardless of party affiliation. California, the state where domesticated ferrets were deemed too dangerous to be legal after a case study that crossed a wild ferret with another creature. California, the state where the founders of Hollywood fled to in order to escape the paralegal reach of Thomas Edison regarding movies, and yet the predominant electric company in the Los Angeles area is named for Edison.

Missing a fair bit of information but looks like they definitely fucked up somehow. Being in a private terminal and away from anyone else, taking your mask off for a few seconds to take a photo is perfectly reasonable (if stupid for PR reasons) but it doesn't look like she just pulled it down for second, she seems to genuinely just not have one. She could have taken it entirely off for a picture but I can't imagine why.

I'd need to know a bit more about the circumstances before I really crucify this person but at best she's an idiot.

Sounds fair. They do come up with a lot of bonkers shit not recognized anywhere else, and now their dickwad governor is trying to sunset combustion engines (and claims, "Oh, this is the way the industry is going!", despite the fact that if was actually being adopted widespread, they wouldn't need to pull shit like this)

Meh, watch this. Those two ladies messed up and should have worn their masks. Boom done. What you are seeing isnt people dodging. Its that most Dems dont follow lock step with the party leaders so when we see an individual make a mistake, we say oh damn thats dumb and move on. We dont feel the need to defend the mistake.

Having as close to 100% compliance is a goal, and only one party is supporting that goal. It's risk management, and we in the real world know that perfect adherence isn't possible, even if we strive for it. For example, you may be asked to take your mask off during TSA checkpoints. People need to remove their mask to drink water while traveling. Even people with good intentions occasionally forget.

Insulting group A for 99% compliance while ignoring Group B pushing for 0%? That's the mindset of a drone.

Being a hypocrite doesn't make you wrong. It just makes you an asshole. You can try this angle as desperately as you want, but hypocrisy alone won't undermine sound medical advice for anyone with a quarter of a functioning brain. If you want to undermine what science is saying, you need to attack it with better science (although, if you've decided beforehand what you want to prove, your own science is already pretty undermined by that a priori bias, so that probably won't be possible).

Quite simply, I don't know what you're fishing for here, but pretty much everyone sensible is going to agree that those people should have been wearing masks. They may have had good reasons for not doing so (including very briefly taking it off and having that moment caught in a picture by somebody desperate to discredit them because they know they're incapable of attacking the position itself), but generally, not wearing one is a mistake. Personally, provided they acknowledge said mistakes and continue complying as they move forward, I'm willing to forgive them. I'm considerably less willing to look kindly on people who lash out and argue against the best available scientific evidence, since they aren't willing to accept their errors and repent.
