We don't want to nationalize health care, we want to nationalize health insurance which is just how you finance health care. That's different than something like the NHS in the UK.

How much is spent on the military again? There's no need to raise taxes, just rearrange where existing taxes are going. And even if there were, how much are Americans paying for private insurance? They won't be paying any more than they already are.

it would be absolutely fantastic if existing tax revenue was used more efficiently, and i'm all for reallocation of such towards the ends of implementing a (genuine, universal) hybrid system
