I liked him in civil war, it was definitely a great introduction.

Really didn't like him in homecoming though for some reason, his childishness and gen z-ness were much more apparent when the focus of the movie was exclusively on him.

Haven't like him since. The buildup to being Iron Man jr wasn't a great take.

Spiderman Euro sextrip had like one or two good parts with him but it was mostly because of jake gyllenhal. Their whole mj thing was aggravating.

He's ok, I just dont find Homecoming or Far From Home enjoyable plot wise. But hey my opinion is probably the minority because I actually enjoyed the Andrew Garfirld movies, though he wasn't a believable Peter Parker.

He's not Spider-Man as I want the character to be, but he's good for the interpretation they're going with. He was really introduced too late in the game.

Spiderman starts out as a teenage kid keep that in mind. I think Tom Holland was a fantastic Spiderman, do wish they hadn't taken the Iron Man Jr. route with him and instead made Uncle Ben his role model but can't complain too much. He did fantastically.

He is great. I think he really does hit on the immature aspects of a young Spider-Man. Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield never felt... young. They felt like they were in their mid-20's.

He is a perfect mix of nerdy, genuine wonder, and an earnestness to his portrayal.

But Tom's good. I felt Tobey was a great Peter but not "cool" enough to be Spider-Man, and Andrew was a great Spider-Man but too "cool" to be Peter. Tom seems like a decent balance of the two.

I think Andrew Garfield would've made a better young adult Peter Parker (like mid-late 20's), but as a teen Peter he wasn't dweeby enough.

I reject the notion that Peter Parker is supposed to be a Clark Kent type nerd. In the 80s Peter was pretty cool. He just wasnt a popular jock.

Spider-Man's an inconsistent character. Despite being the relatable one (i.e. a normal geek who gets powers), he's more often than not depicted as a good looking young man who's inexplicably disliked and ill-adjusted. While I'm usually not fond of that trope, Andrew Garfield did it really well. And if I'm to identify with Spider-Man, yeah, I'd honestly rather be good looking.

Toby Maguire is the best actor to play Spider-Man, but he's ill-fitted. He doesn't work as the geek Spider-Man or the beautiful loner Spider-Man.

That's by design though. Disney doesn't want Spider-Man at his maximum potential because he still technically belongs to Sony. It's probably also the reason he's 15 instead of 25.

I guess that makes sense. The deal did fall through at one point but Tom helped recover it. Its an easy out if they dont keep the deal.

How was he laughably bad? I feel like this is something that's been repeated online so much that people just accept it as a fact. In my opinion hi movies had bad plots but he was great in the role. For some reason there's a misconception that Peter is supposed to be an awkward loser when he was never really like that in the comics. Flash picked on him all the time but Peter had a short temper and always stuck up for himself. And he jokes around a lot with people even when he's not being spider-man.

I don't like Toby's portrayal because he came across as a complete weirdo and barely showed an emotions. Tom Holland's version comes closer to what I expect of peter but he's a little too twitchy and comes across as a fanboy all the time. Andrew Garfield felt like a normal guy who separated himself from his peers because he had a lot on his mind and felt like he couldn't fully connect to them. A lot of people just say "He skateboards? This Peter acts too cool! He's a hipster!" but they're ignoring literally everything else about him. Comics Peter had girls like Liz Allen and Betty Brant throwing themselves at him when he was in high school and MJ & Gwen Stacy did the same thing as soon as he started college. He might be smart, but he was never a mute nerd or an overhyper little kid

All I want from this series is for Zendaya's character to become a model or musician and choose "Mary Jane Watson" as her professional name.

This, Tobey did play Peter great but as Spider-Man didn't have the wit that people love about Spider-man. And Andrew was great doing his spider-man but was bad at playing peter. Tom has a good mixture of both.
