Big tech companies know a lot about you (based on your interests, what you comment on, where you click, etc.) and can (or are) manipulating you to behave a particular way. "If something is free, then you are the product." It's a bit more nuanced, but if you find enjoyment in getting likes or triggering someone, tech companies know how to exploit that and make you want more. And even if you don't think you are being influenced, you are (simply by using any of these "free" products).
