I started with Cold Steel and played 1-3. Now I'm playing through Trails in the Sky arc. Finished FC and am in chapter 4 of SC. While cold steel spoils Trails in the Sky, there are still tons and tons of plot twists and developments that you either heard in Cold Steel and forgot about (because you didn't understand it or they didn't mention it) that it makes playing that a joy even after Cold Steel. I love the Cold Steel games. I do think it would have been better if they had just went with ~~Alisa~~ as a canon romance to allow the other characters to have meaningful relationships with each other outside of Rean.
