Rules: 1._Vote for your favorite rivalry(ies). You don't have to vote on both matches, but it'd be cool if you did! 2._Traditional rules apply: No alts, no rallying, no cheating of any kind. 3._Topics will last for exactly 24 hours since the moment of posting. Bracket: https://challonge.com/es/e0cpkkjf Discussion Topic: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/78857778 Today's contestants: MATCH 1: Link vs. Cloud Strife (GameFAQs Characters Rivalry) When it comes down to the most popular characters out of the most popular games out there, these guys are the faces that represent their respective games in a way that makes their fanbases deeply identify with them, be it in terms of the character itself, or by the sheer coolness they emanate. Link and Cloud have received great and beneficial overhauls throughout the years, making justice for their conceptual design by fitting their styles in different ways, giving Cloud a more realistic approach, while Link has had immensely popular redesigns. Ocarina of Times Link may be the most popular, but out of all the different incarnations of the character, the semi-realistic way they portrayed him in Twilight Princess is considered by many the pinnacle of his design. Meanwhile, Cloud has only stayed popular by remaining the same, but gaining handsomeness with each passing generation. Advent Childrens portrayal of Cloud is the most beloved (or was it Crisis Cores). Either way, even though Link has a score advantage over Cloud of like 8 to 1 in terms of GameFAQs championships, and to top it all off, having Link received a Boost of the Wild, Cloud is trying to recover with its games beloved remake. Who know, maybe one day hell recover his precious GameFAQs title. -Advokaiser Kratos vs. Literally Every God In Existence (God of War) Based strongly on Greek mythology, God of War is a franchise that centers around Kratos and his quest for redemption by killing every living god out there. Like, seriously, his quest involves getting rid of the entire Olympus, Sparta, and every other place where there is a god that opposes him. I was really surprised to see such a relentless killing machine having a son, but hey, Kratos proves that he can do whatever he wants with his enemies while simultaneously being a family man. -Advokaiser MATCH 2: Neo vs. Agent Smith (The Matrix) In a world where everythings just a scenery, an illusion; in a world controlled by machines and dark agents, there can only be one savior: Neo, The One. Neo, however, must make a choice: to live its own life, believing whatever suits him best, or unveil the harsh truth. Upon taking the red pill, Neo must prepare intensely for the moment when he could finally face off against the agents, being Agent Smith the ruler of them all. Throughout the first movie, you can see how Neo and company struggle with simply running away from them; but Neo manages to develop abilities that make him capable of fighting Agent Smith himself. Showing off extraordinary action sequences throughout each movie, each one getting better than the last one the faced off in, both characters have an extremely immense stamina, power, reflexes, strength, and intelligence. Its only a matter of time to see which one of them emerges victorious. -Advokaiser Naruto Uzumaki vs. Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto) The Naruto manga and anime series features an extensive cast of characters created by Masashi Kishimoto. The series takes place in a fictional universe where countries vie for power by employing ninja who can use superhuman abilities in combat. The eponymous character of the first series is Naruto Uzumaki, an energetic ninja who wishes to become Hokage, the leader of Konohagakure and holds a monster called the Nine Tails in his body. During the early part of the series, Naruto is assigned to Team 7, in which he meets his rival Sasuke Uchiha, a taciturn and highly skilled "genius" of the Uchiha clan. Sasuke was designed by Kishimoto as the "cool genius" since he felt this was an integral part of an ideal rivalry. Naruto and Sasuke used to be part of Team 7, but it was later disbanded. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Team 7 reunites to fight Madara Uchiha who later becomes Kaguya tsutsuki. Once the War is over, Sasuke and Naruto have their final battle.
