Current Events > Wtf happened to the Call of Duty series?

I played from Call of Duty 2 through to Ghosts, and then because I've owned a Wii U and Switch, I haven't been able to play the more recent ones. What the hell happened to it, though? I basically bought the games for the campaign, and also for all the excellent special modes (like Survival Ops). Now, the single player mode is apparently gone, or something, the games are reimaginings of earlier titles, there's stuff set in space, and the games take up SO much memory on the console, that there's barely room for anything else. Have I made any mistakes? Did I get something wrong? I hear things, but I'm not entirely sure that I understand them. What is the point of these games, anymore? Although I'm pretty sure they still sell very well.

Shame. Some of the games were good, and some were really great, like MW3. I had a lot of fun. What happened? Also, why do Nintendo consoles not deserve COD games?

Microtransitioning, it's a technology that makes game performance a lot better but also increases the game size and the Switch can't support it which is why cod isn't on nintendo

They ran out of ideas 10 years ago and have to scramble to get a game together in a year now.

I took a long hiatus from the series after 4 (which...was my first CoD but that's not important) and didn't really pay it any mind until Advanced Warfare (I tried the other two Modern Warfare games but not anywhere on the level I spent with 4).

After that I putzed around sometimes checking it out during their future era but I would say I wasn't really back into it until Modern Warfare arrived. I haven't played CoD so hard since 4, I think.

Not powerful enough,and I guess the developers don't want to downgrade it.

Especially with cross play. It might be hard to keep synchronized with a Switch running at a lower spec.

I have skipped 90% of the CoD games though, last full one I played was Black Ops 3 and I never played 1 or 2. Besides that I tried the WW2 multiplayer demo and that was trash...
