looking for manga that:
1. have bad, heavily modified, or otherwise vastly inferior anime adaptations that make it pointless to watch the anime (Berserk, One Piece, Eyeshield21). i know some people will say that almost all anime adaptations are inferior to the original manga but looking for more notable cases here and/or 2. are finished. or at the least, aren't one million years away from being finished. i hate reading weekly updates/keeping up with ongoing stuff. any genre is fine! ... Beelzebub is the first thing that comes to mind. The anime adaptation is awful, but the manga is funny and one of my favorites.

Also this is a wierd one to mention....but the Umineko manga is very, very, very good, and the anime is very, very, very bad.

I dont know how many people agree that thr Parasyte anime was done poorly but... I'll say poorly enough that I vastly recommend reading the manga for.

Will recommend Supernatural Detective: Neuro. Anime is basically just a side story in the Neuro universe with none of the major character arcs. Author went onto pen Assassination Classroom, so if you're familiar with that, very similar in tone.

Also if you're a fan of the Haruhi Suzumiya anime, the Manga actually covers all the way through all the books, while the anime only covers a little under half of them.

Parasyte is generally a very well regarded anime. I get where people who dislike it come from, but it's a show that is often actually mentioned as one of the decade's best anime. Fire Punch is fantastic and will never get an anime. The writers current series, Chainsaw Man, is even better and IS getting an anime.
