Think about it: you stab someone in the neck, they bleed out. The icicle melts, the water evaporates, no murder weapon at the scene. No fingerprints.

I mean I understand that certain icicles could be brittle, but sometimes they're pretty tough.

I've never handled one before, but I thought they were very brittle. I can't imagine they're very good stabbing weapons.

You can't stab anything with a pill. Shape the cyanide into an icicle first.

Just smash a block of ice over their head

That reminds me, there was this one detective story which had the murderer kill his victim by smashing his head with a giant slab of frozen meat.

Since the guy also happened to be the chef for a restaurant, he then simply destroyed the evidence by cooking the meat and feeding it to the customers. Pretty devious.

I can't remember how he was finally caught though. Maybe some trace of the meat was left on the victim's bashed head or something as a clue.

mythbusters already proved you cant make ice bullets since no matter how deeply frozen they are, the heat from the gun will always melt it within centimetets from the gun when firing it

A deep frozen knife would probably be effective. Even if it was easy to break when stabbing (i doubt that if its deep frozen), it would still be good for slicing

Its probably easier to just buy a regular knife and then just not leave any dna evidence at the scene . Youd have to do that with an ice weapon anyway but now its less effort

IIRC John McClane stabbed a guy right through the eyeball in Die Hard 2.

In the eye, with a hard enough icicle, could be feasible.

The smarter thing to do is just make people believe icicle can kill, but you actually kill them with something else.

Then people who believe icicle can kill with never suspect you.

Classic misdirect people to believe murder weapon is something ridiculous, when it's actually just a friggin common kitchen knife!

I'll be honest; I've thought hard about this.

You'd want to make a [disposable] mold for a knife. Thick enough that the straight blow wouldnt brake the blade. Roughly 3/4" thick. After that, use a real knife to sharpen it. After sharpening you'll need to refreeze it and keep it as cold as possible until use. If done properly it wouldnt even need to fully melt; finger prints would disappear in seconds thanks to the external/internal heat from you/them.

Didclaimer: Only thought about it for a D&D campaign; I do not condone these actions.

The "perfect" murder weapon wouldn't leave any trace of an attack. It would look like natural causes. The reason is because even if the weapon isn't around, it's obvious the victim was murdered. You don't need a weapon to round up a list of suspects with motive or opportunity. And there are plenty of other ways you probably left forensic clues at the crime scene.

No murder weapon might make the prosecuter's job harder, but IANAL. I assume a jury could be convinced that you're a murderer and were just crafty enough to dispose of the weapon.

Not perfect because its difficult to transport, often brittle and only readily available in winter in certain areas.

Its gonna be tough getting a reliable kill with it even if you get it to the victim.
