Alexander Hamilton vs. Aaron Burr (Historical Duel)



Alexander Hamilton, former secretary of the treasury, and Aaron Burr, sitting vice president of the United States, had feuded publicly for years. Their long-standing enmity came to a head in the spring of 1804. After an exchange of letters and meetings between intermediaries, the duel was set for July 11, 1804. Within hours of the duel, Angelica Schuyler Church, Elizabeth Hamiltons sister and Hamiltons close friend and correspondent, wrote this letter to her brother Philip Schuyler to break the news. She wrote that the Hamilton "was this morning woun[d]ed by that wretch Burr." Her handwriting suggests her level of distress. Angelica also wrote, "we have every reason to hope that he will recover," but he did not. Hamilton died the following morning, surrounded by family and friends, after a night of agony. -gilderlehrman.org

Fierce Deity Link vs. Majoras Mask (The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask)



Majoras Mask is a major Zelda title that hardly needs any introduction. Its a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, but the premise is totally different from its predecessor: After chasing down Skull Kid, who had previously gotten away with Links ocarina by kidnapping Epona, Link falls into the land of Termina, in which he gets transformed by Skull Kid into a Deku Scrub.

With the aid of the Happy Mask Salesman, Link must now find a way to transform himself back to normal, stop the world from ending within 3 days, and recover the cursed Majoras Mask.

Link later realizes he will need the aid of not only his Deku self, but of several other masks as well, to stop Majoras Mask immense destructive power. Saving Termina in its entirety, though, results in a huge aid: acquiring the Fierce Deity Mask. Not only is this the rarest mask in the game, but it also has unspoken levels of power a power so big that have led many to believe both masks share a rivalry of a very, very ancient origin. -Advokaiser

MATCH 2:

Ryu vs. Ken (Street Fighter Series)



If we put the Pong Paddles aside, this right here is the quintessence of a Player-1-vs.-Player-2 rivalry. Back in the early 90s, when Street Fighter II came out and fighting games were at its prime, Ryu and Ken were the most popular characters to fight around with, and their popularity has been carried over up to todays releases. Both characters are great friends, but they also like to rival around whenever they feel like putting up a great fight. Both characters have a similar style of combat, and both share a lot of moves, with a few technical differences that establish them as unique as their design and personalities make them. Ryu and Ken also share the same vision in fighting, aiding each other whenever a menacing foe gets in their way.

Whos cooler? Its up to you to decide. I personally prefer Ryus overall character, but I gotta admit that nothing kicks more butt than pulling of a Shippu Jinraikyaku or Shinryuken with Ken. -Advokaiser

Vanilla vs. Chocolate (Flavors)



This is one of those cases where its tempting to add a third competitor to the mix: strawberry. They make up the trio for best flavors around, and together they also result in a very popular combination: Neapolitan.

Even then, vanilla and chocolate are the most popular flavors, particularly among ice creams. Im an eager vanilla fan, so gimme my vanilla milkshake with Oreos, please.
