Because, proposals like the Green New Deal, siding with the deadly Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters, treating citizens like criminals for not wearing a mask, all while releasing criminals from prisons, denying the President from banning travel from China all while he was putting up a task force to deal with the outbreak, encouraging others to go to Chinatown during the Chinese New Year, having the audacity to imeach the President on the actions of what the former Vice President did to protect his son all while the outbreak was starting, blaming the Presdient on the virus instead of China, and said former Vice President choosing an extremely unpopular politician for running mate only because she fills the diversity quota, complete with corporate and news media as well as excessive censorship by social media, is completely and totally moderate?

Man, you all need to take a step back and look at both sides. Both sides have people who want to go to extremes and they are the loud majority. Trump seems like an obviously corrupt politician but he had also passed some good legislation that has barely made the news due to everyone wanting to just shit on him. Biden creeps me the fuck out and has done shady shit but he also has made some good talking points.

Heck even the whole "Democrats support rioting" is a bad message. As is saying "Republicans are racist".

This country is becoming divided, and we are forgetting that we are all just people trying to make a way in the world. Surely we could all have a reasonable discussion and make compromises that improves life for everyone?

The whole thing is kind of sad. I've always considered myself a Democrat, but I feel that the push against trump has driven them away from reality in an extreme way. I have this good friend who has started posting memes about killing rich people because they don't deserve their money.

Then there is this whole thing with the riots. I used to live in Seattle, and now I live outside of Portland, and its all just really sad. A bunch of really good intention people going out to protest police brutality and other things, only for the more "extreme" people in the group turning it into a burn down the establishment and start over kind of thing, making the whole group look horrible. So now the "good" people are not only trying to protest properly, but they are also having to deal with the "bad" people and the reactions the law enforcement have to the "bad" people.

To the cops all the protestors/rioters/whatever look the same so now everyone is a target. Then the whole defund the police thing is going on. Which I have to say the extreme right is telling their own story about this saying the left wants to eliminate the police (which isn't true) and the whole thing becomes murky and further divides everyone. Anyway for those who are even bothering to read this far defund the police actually means to take some of the resources going to police and turn that towards specialists that can better handle race issues, homeless, mental illness, etc. And honestly I feel the intention is good here but it's a terrible idea. a better solution would be to have these "specialists" as part of the police force. Have the specialists respond with the police backing them up. A speak softly and carry a big stick thing if you will.

And back on the subject of protestors, even if it weren't for the rioters, what would be the end game here? What is the metric being measured to determine if the protest has accomplished what it needs to and it can stop?

Republicans are racist? I mean, take a look at the south. The republicans hate anyone that isn't white and I can see it getting to the point where republicans only like blonde haired, blue eyed people.
