Anyone important I have in my contacts list so it shows their name when they call. I can always tell if it was spam because they either leave no voice mail at all, or I get a VM notification within a few seconds. A real caller would take 20-30 seconds to leave a message, not 3-4 seconds. Sometimes they do leave a message. Then Google mangles the hell out of it and sends the text to me in a notification.
