Former alcoholic. Memory blackouts and injuries that I couldn't remember sustaining were the things that finally scared me into recovery.

I never have and I absolutely 100% do not see the appeal.

I think once for me. I had so much to drink that I had my eyes open, but everything started going dark.
Later, the next day, I found out that i had 8 beers + 8 shots of 100 proof Rumple Minze in a span of around 3-4 hrs. Would that do it ?

Oddly enough, I didn't even get sick , but was hungover like a mofo !

iv drank a lot over the past 10 years and not once have i ever "blacked out".

Iv had nasty hangovers. some lasting 2 days but i always remember what i say and do

I've had a few times where details were a little fuzzy but I don't think I've ever completely blacked out and done anything weird or crazy. Nowadays, I live pretty straightedge and drink a beer or two maybe once or twice a month

I think everyone should cut loose and have a good time every now and then but I definitely don't recommend getting shit hammered and blacking out

Even back when I used to drink enough at parties and the like to potentially kill smaller humans, I never really got "blackout drunk". My body's just not built that way. I tend to get wired when I drink more than sluggish. I'm kind of a hyper drunk.

"Get tired and slowly fall asleep where you're sitting" drunk, sure (usually only if I was already tired/sleep-deprived even before I started drinking). But never really "snap your fingers, everything's black, and you can't remember anything you did the next day" drunk. My tolerance was always pretty damned high. I never even got hangovers back in the day.

My tolerance has actually dropped a fair bit since I've gotten older, but it doesn't mean I get drunk faster/harder as much as it means I just feel it worse the next day. So I don't really drink as hard as I used to.

I have before, but I hardly ever drink at all now.

Not since I dropped out of high school and basically became a full-time alcoholic. I remember passing out on my back and then puking straight up like a fountain. Then, covered in my own puke, I looked over at a guy passed out near me and said, "I feel much better now." Good times.

I don't drink that much anymore because the hangover is not worth it.
