It's not "impossible", there are certainly mentally unstable homeless people that can behavior in irrational ways, but it's very iffy story and blaming things on "crazy homeless people" is an easy out. The fact that the mother admits that someone called saying the teens were attacking the homeless guy is not a good sign. Yeah, the caller could have been wrong, but the mom is obviously going to side with her die so it's not like the mom is the best source of information in a situation like this. But whatever. It's posted on instagram so it's gotta be legit.

You misunderstand. I'm not saying the guy didn't pull a knife. People clearly confirm the guy pulled a knife. That however doesn't mean the incident played out the way the mother states.

Actually I have. I used to deal with them daily back when I was younger. I actually almost got stabbed by a tweaker back in the day myself. So yeah, like I said, it could have just been a crazy guy. I just think there was a bit more back and forth then the mom is letting on. Obviously pulling a knife on someone is a crime and the guy should get arrested for it.

The mother herself explained that. Someone called and said the boys were attacking the man so the cops arrived thinking that's what was going and that's why he said he might have been at the wrong call.

That's my point. Find the case # to the call, and take it from there.
My guess is the cop was bullshitting, or the dispatch was completely incompetent.

Say what you want about me guy but the mom's story sounds like a typical "I'm going to alter this story to remove anything that might make my side look bad" type of retelling. Now maybe that's not even on the mom herself. Maybe it's on the kids. Or maybe she's just bad at retelling stories. But I think it's possible that more went on then we were told and I think anyone doesn't even consider that possibility is a chump. But whatever. Ultimately I can't stop you if you want to slavishly believe random instagram stories, now can I?

That's the issue. The whole system is corrupt where even the good ones that actually report the bad ones get fucked over and lose their job. And the ones that want to be good have that constant fear of blowback that they don't say shit.

Sure, maybe good police greatly outnumber bad police. But the culture and system needs a complete overhaul because in it's present state, it's not doing shit about those bad cops.

A little insight into crowd reliability on hot calls...

Per a Seattle Police Officer, who WITNESSED a stabbing a subsequently chased the suspect, this is what unfolded:

Suspect attempts to toss the weapon onto a roof, fails, knife lands 10-15 feet away. Suspect attempts to blend into a nearby crowd, officer draws his weapon and orders suspect onto the ground. Suspect complies, but the bigger issue is that the crowd is now surrounding both men, screaming at the officer that the man didnt do anything, so why was the officer messing with him?

Backup arrives, crowd control commences, arrest is made.

On the scene of the stabbing, an officer is trying to stop the bleeding because a large crowd has now gathered there and is becoming increasingly hostile; theyre asking the cop why he shot the man, etc., and its a large enough crowd that the fire department wont come in to offer medical aid.

The man survived, but that crowd almost killed him by delaying help because they incorrectly assumed they knew what was happening.

Im not condoning how this was handled, but you need to understand that its very difficult to trust anyone until the situation is under control and all possible threats are, at least, temporarily detained.

Then you can listen to each version of events and find the truth.

Hey man, all I said was that her story was a bit questionable/iffy. I never said it's ok to attack teens with knives or whatever. Obviously the guy should be arrested barring some really extreme circumstance that we don't know about. I don't see what's controversial about my statements. If you're simply mad at me because I'm talking about the details of the incident instead of talking about the cops then whatever. There's really not a lot to say about the cops. Pulling out guns seemed excessive and unnecessary going by what we saw. Not much else to say about it.

The story itself. While not directly comparable since it was a hoax and this was obviously a real attack, look at the Jussie Smollett story. A lot of people read his account of what happened and thought "There's something off about this story" before any evidence came out. Sometimes the stories people tell don't seem believable. I came into this topic, went to link, watched the video, then read the mom's post and then posted about how her story came off as iffy to me. It's really not complicated.
