it is possible to have dual citizenship.

my grandma has dual citizenship

she's lived in canada for 2 years now, getting taken care of by my parents and she's renouncing her american citizenship because "it's too much of a hassle dealing with two governments so i'm just gonna deal with the one i live under."

why Quebec?
Because it still retains its strong French identity (despite the central government trying, unsuccessfully, to wipe it out), and because I already lived in Montral when I was little and it was great, and been there several times since. Vive le Qubec Libre !

Lol at this overblown stereotype that Canada is freezing cold all the time.

I live in Alberta which is sure as hell not Arizona weatherwise, but id say for at least 8 to 9 months a year, its warmer than people in the states think it is.

We do get fuckin nailed with the sunshine tax and that does suck. But plenty of souther canada gets hot af in the summer and none of southern bc gets all that cold. Dunno why you think its just the west coast exclusively or something.

also this. I live like a 5 minute ride from a hiking / biking trail that extends almost to the border to the south and then a good few hundred k north.

weve got a fuckton of trails and parks all over this country and way more untouched wilderness than the us.

I dont see how that would be a deciding factor here.

Looking at the top 20 in population BC cities/towns

Vancvouver - west coast
Surrey - part of metro Vancouver
Burnaby - part of metro vancouver
Richmond - part of metro Vancouver
Abbotsford - very close to Vancouver
Coquitlam - part of metro Vancouver
Kelowna - not southwest BC
Delta - part of metro Vancouver
Nanaimo - on Vancouver Island
Kamloops - not southwest BC
Victoria - on Vancouver Island
Chilliwack - close to Abbotsford
Maple Ridge - part of metro Vancouver
Prince George - not southwest BC
New Westminster - part of metro Vancouver
Port Coquitlam - part of metro Vancouver
North Vancouver - part of metro Vancouver
Vernon - not southwest BC
Langford - on Vancouver Island
Penticton - not southwest BC

Just for reference, Nanaimo's population was about 90.5k in 2016 and Penticton's population was about 33.7k in 2016.

OK let's look at the cities not in southwest BC. I compared these to Detroit which is known as a really cold major US city

Kelowna - (not available, but in the same general area as Kamloops)
Kamloops - https://weather-averages.co.uk/compare-climate/kamloops%2C-canada/detroit%2C-mi%2C-usa
Prince George - https://weather-averages.co.uk/compare-climate/prince-george%2C-canada/detroit%2C-mi%2C-usa
Vernon - (not available, but in the same general area as Kamloops)
Penticton - (not available, but in the same general area as Kamloops)

Those three unavailable cities are to the south of Kamloops, so I'm guessing they are more tolerable in winter than Kamloops

Conclusion: Kelowna is the only "major" city in Canada outside of southwestern BC that is even tolerable in winter.
