Fayetteville

Athens, I believe UGA is there and nothing else

Fayetteville, I know its a military town and nothing else. Dad grew up there, did training there, did a lot of shit there.

Fayetteville is closer to the beach, so theres that.

Damn, and Fayetteville is only an hour and half to two hours to Myrtle.

I think Id lean towards there. Its kind of right in the center of a lot of stuff, could go west to Charlotte, up to Raleigh, south to Myrtle. Not too shabby.

Flipping this to the Georgia perspective: West to Atlanta, up to the Mountains, Southeast to Augusta, or futher Southeast to South Carolina and/or the beaches, South to Florida(if that's your speed).

once again, the dude is asking about cities, and people are talking about states. there is no fucking way you could visit both fayetteville and athens and come away thinking fayetteville is more civilized

Not worth it. And Myrtle is a nice place to visit but you wouldn't want to live there.

One thing to keep in mind is that Athens in the fall may be a shit show due to all the college kids coming into town, partying, and getting infected with corona. I love Athens but I would be wary about moving there this fall.

The Triangle isn't much better.

But they usually just stay in their areas.

Kids who go down to Fayetteville is clearly looking for trouble to get into.

fayetteville has fort bragg, i been there lots of times, usually stay at the home2. never seen anyplace i'd like to live, but the Mash House is pretty good and has some real good trivia.

I went to fort bragg once, they gave me the list of off-limits establishments for the area. It was like the whole damned city.

Athens is pretty nice, got this charming little walkable small city vibe to it. Plus you're not far from Atlanta.

I'm going to find out my future this week. 'Fingers crossed', yadda yadda.

Also with all the looting and destroying going on lately BLM and Antifa are threatening to burn the city down unless the old Market House is demolished.

Some and even some black folks want it to stay for historic reasons.

They removed the logo from various things but the building itself might be harder to take down until someone burns it down along with the city.

You'd be better off moving to some BF location where people don't care about the woes of the world.

Unless you're living right next to UGA there's no real problem with safety. Even if you do live next to UGA the worst thing that you'll see is usually just a vagrant.

Do not live in the iron triangle and avoid living off North Ave (mainly the part that is north of the North Oconee River). If you live outside of those areas, then Athens is pretty safe. However, the lodge is a very nice apartment complex.

It's just a little sketchy to walk on North Avenue at night. You probably will be okay but just be mindful of your surroundings.

Last time I lived at a place with that sort of profile I got attacked by three strangers at once, who took turns whamming away at my head.

No. Its the sort of neighborhood if you leave your bike unattended, someone might steal it but thats not saying much.

Curious if the city has a reliable transportation system. All I'm seeing so far is something that looks like a student shuttle that takes you around the colleges.
