Yes. Even better than Super Mario 64.

10/10 game, but Nah. BT was far better, as is Ratchet and Clank 1&2.

I agree about Mario 64 though. When it first released it was basically the perfect game and still holds up, but it's not even the best Mario game

I love Mario, but there's no way those games are better than galaxy

A bit more difficulty would have made it the GOAT. I feel like Sunshine nailed the difficulty perfectly, despite the rest of the game being... Fine... Not great, but fine.

sunshine had a few really difficult things to do and you never actually had to do them unless you wanted all the shines, so i'm inclined to agree with that assessment. that one water slide puzzle where you're on a lilypad comes to mind.

i've never played banjo kazooie and i kinda want to.

BK was great, especially the pre-nerf version where you would lose all of your notes if you died on a level. Can't be caught slipping on that version.
wait what? what's this "nerf" version?

They just mean the original N64 version. In all subsequent ports, it was changed so that you keep any notes you find. But originally, dying or leaving a level meant your notes were reset to 0 unless you already found them all, and had to be collected again. (But your high score was kept in the note total for the purpose of unlocking note doors)

I remember hearing that that was Rare's original intention all along, but that some weird technical chicanery prevented them from implementing it in the first game.

RIP if you didn't think to do the engine room first in Rusty Bucket Bay, lol.

This is why it's not the best.

I was playing it the other day and losing all my notes after dying has made me lose all interest.
