Oh believe me, there are a ton of companies I boycott and I dont miss them at all. In-N-Out is right up there with Chick-fil-a as an evil corporation, but not many people realize theyre directly supporting Trump by eating there. Unlike a lot of fake liberals, I actually stand by my beliefs and dont support bigot businesses. If everyone took this stand we could actually make a change, but no, people rather stuff their face with a greasy unhealthy burger.

Its not that. I mean, yeah. People will eat what they want. Em which makes sense. Why should I punish myself to change something that wont ever really change. But you also have things like people living in areas where no matter where they buy from, theyll be supporting and evil company. Not to mention, just because some people think theyre evil doesnt mean everybody does. While some people may not buy In-N-Out because they don.they like Trump, the Trump supporters will. They may even buy more. Who knows. Life is too short to punish yourself and just give up things you like, like certain foods. Those companies are going to make money regardless. You can stop on your own, though. Just dont expect people to give up stuff that like. Everyone knows how to vote with their wallet. But nobody should also have to love a shitty by giving up the things they like. If they have to give up everything they like, then whats the point of living in the first place...

It's actually about the logistics of bacon. In-N-Out puts quality before all else. Most fast food places use precooked bacon which is terrible bacon and anti their culture of quality. So that leaves cooking the bacon themselves. Now normally, a restuarant will parcook bacon fresh at the start of the day then finish it to complete an order. While this works for many restuarants, the volume of burgers each In-N-Out sells daily is astonishing and the amount of bacon required is just too much to warrant adding it to their menus.

And the #1 answer is a career chef who basically says "bacon logistics". But if a chef, an In-N-Out employee and a guy who freshly cooks bacon daily (15lbs) isn't enough professional cooking experience for you, then you should go get a job at In-N-Out and ask for yourself.

You are vastly overrating how much of a reduction a boycott does in profit. You act like once In-N-Out gets boycotted they are closing up stores and forced to fire half their employees. At most a Boycott probably affects about 5-10% of the customer base and that is in the best case scenario by far, it's more likely to affect way under 5%.

Shit we have seen people not even follow their own boycott before I remember PC Call of Duty players furious over no servers on PC for the game or something like that back in 2015 or some year around there, They had a Boycott group on Steam all about not supporting the new Call of Duty coming out. Someone posted a screenshot of the game on day 1 from the group and nearly all of them were playing that Call of Duty at the time, despite being in the the boycott Call of Duty group.

This issue came up a few years ago when some elected official here in California called out the company for their donations to the Republician party and told the public not to eat there

All it achieved was drive thru lines 4 times as long as people ordered burgers with "grilled Democratic onions"

I thought it was back in 2017 (it was 2018) .. anyway, a conservative radio show broadcasting from Fresno made a joke about going to the restaurant and ordering your burger with said grilled onions

Sure enough, it took off, I ordered it that way shortly after the boycott was called and the guy taking my order laughed

The idiot chairman who called for the boycott went back on his word a few days later *smh* but yeah, it was a very profitable week for In n Out

Well in someways they do much worse than outright fire people. They do hour gleaning. Basically they have a labor metric that updates over the day. When labor to profit gets too high they tell someone to go home. Since benefits (ha is that even a thing anymore) are tied to your wage you can actually lose and regain your healthcare on a yearly basis (depending on state and employer). So Miss Margrets hours got cut to 28 hours for a week she is now considered part time. This happens so she doesnt meet the hour stability quota in the fall for full time work and as such her benefits are taken away which meens that she can have several months of waiting for medicaid to kick in as we know private insuarance prices are a joke to anyone with kids and the good ones have conditions that may disqualify you from coverage. During that time one of her kids gets injured and can no longer see their pcp because they accrues a balance. They can take their kid to the state funded hospital outpatient but hours of operations vs heavy congestion may mean you have to wait til they are sick enough for an er visit before they can be seen.

That might sound over exaggerated but it is common occurrence for people elow 133% of the povery level and lets face the fact that fast food workers typically are not trust fund babies or people with more than $ doll in the bank account unless its payday. So yeah a 5% reduction is gonna only see the lowest workers paycheck and not anyone of merit.
