I dont think ive seen a movie this year

Bojack horsemen was good

FF Remake was good but also I played like 200 hours of Animal Crossing

I liked the strokes album, other than that ive barely heard any new music

monster train is pretty neat, probably a top 5 game of the year for me so far but also I may have only played five games ???

AC, FF, Doom Eternal, Monster Train.... uhhhh Call of Duty: Warzone is technically this year even though the main CoD was last year

I think thats actually every new game ive played this year. Yikes.

Game: Toss-up between World of Horror & Resident Evil 3. I would probably give World of Horror the edge currently just because it's one of, if not, the best adaptation of Junji Ito/Lovecraftian style I have ever seen in a video game. I actually liked RE3 a lot but I already feel like I played it to death and exhausted it.

Movie: After Midnight. From my review on letterboxd: "A texture-rich molasses-burning Lovecraftian-esque thriller that morphs into the rom-com of the year that morphs again into the best horror climax since Midsommar. An incredible work of creativity & genre-melding from a director duo I can't wait to see more from. Existential terror abounds a carefully curated soundtrack, and a breath-stealing long take grabs your attention and squeezes it all the way to the very end. I simply loved it!:

Show: Where the hell is my Fargo season 4 & Barry season 3 god damn it. Well, at least Legends of Tomorrow had a great season. And I guess Locke & Key was pretty good too. I'm just super hyped for Lucifer season 5 at this point. And Lovecraft County. (I did not intend to mention Lovecraft this much).

Album: I Disagree by Poppy. I played this album to death to this year. HUGE shout to my boys, Handguns, with When the Light Burns Out too. Would've been an easy favorite this year if not for Poppy.

Song: Bloody Valentine by Machine Gun Kelly. Just a plain fun pop punk track that gets me hyped up and energized with every listen. Swallowing the Rabbit Whole by Code Orange is just plain incredible though. Liquid Therapy by Handguns & Anything Like Me by Poppy deserve mentions too. I could go on with a bunch more TBH.

whatever else (comics/literature/standup/etc): The new Avengers arc with Moon Knight has been killer. RedLetterMedia & Nexpo always killing it in the Youtube scene, and Tim Rogers' Action Button reviews have been awesome epics as well. Can't really think of anything too much else right now. I've really just mainly focused on music the most this year, catching up on previous years' horror movies, & playing anything that looks interesting at itch.io.

Game: The Last of Us Part 2, though while I like it a lot I do hope something better comes along
Movie: The Vast of Night. Do yourself a favour and watch this as soon as you can in a dark room.
Show: Dark. Great ending to the series.

For whatever else I'm going to shout out The Sandman audio drama as an incredible version of the comic series, check it out if you like it or have never tried the series before and are curious about it. Great stuff.
