I mean lets be real, everyone knew what a dumpster fire he was and there were plenty of other old white men to choose from.

Obama maybe got cocky and decided he wanted to put a self imposed challenge on his presidency... you know like speed runners do.

we can only pray a competent decision is made regarding Bidens vp but I really wish Bernie Sanders had the nomination.

Obama was a rookie politician who lacked the kind of deep connections that Joe Biden brought to the table. As such, Biden was a great choice.

>Talks about dumpster fires
>Promotes Bernie Sanders

Sanders has been in politics almost all his life, yet failed basic political questions that even Ben Carson was able to answer. We got on Gary Johnson for his Aleppo Moment, but Sanders was nothing but Aleppo moments. Bernie Sanders was probably the worst candidate running in 2016, and that's saying a lot.

Biden was a horrible pick but it does not surprise me that you like him. Biden is basically Trump lite.
I remember when President Obama said to give Donald Trump a chance... that is when I realized Obama doesnt care about anyone or his legacy. Something happened that made him want to watch the world burn.

Obama's biggest mistake was trying to get Republicans to work with him when Mitch said from day 1 their #1 goal was to deny him a 2nd term.

He had a fatalistic obsession w/ Lincoln and his cabinet of political rivals working together that just wasn't compatible w/ the modern GOP.

Wasted a ton of time courting conservative Reps and Senators he never got anyway and basically squandered the 2 years Dems had total control, which is not something that happens often for them. The biggest example of course was immediately dropping the public option from Obamacare to appease them.

His 2nd greatest mistake was not putting Garland on the Supreme Court. He assumed Hillary would win and basically ceded his court pick to Republicans. He should've forced the issue, for the sake of precedent if nothing else.

Biden is very good at convincing senators to vote for things, the ACA would absolutely not have passed if not for him being part of the administration

It was the Senates job to vote yes or no on his nominee, and he nominated a moderate

the blame is on McConnell

in no way is he trump lite

he is literally doing more to help the country get through the pandemic as a nominee than trump is doing in office

It's the president's duty to appoint a nominee for the Supreme Court

It's the Senate's job to determine if the nominee is acceptable. The Senate ceded their right to question him. Obama should've just put him on the damn court and told Mitch, "you're free to do your job and have a hearing with him, if you feel like it."
He let them steal the seat from him and set a horrible precedent for the future.

Yes, it's obviously Mitch's fault and he should burn in hell for all he's done to destroy our republic.
But Obama could've fought back and he didn't.
Topic is "greatest mistake". Doesn't mean he did something criminal or horrible. Just made a mistake.

Because Republicans would have labeled him a thug or an uppity n word.

He had to behave more than any other president in our history

...what? That's some world-class wacky trolling. Also I don't "like" Biden. I'm rather indifferent towards him, but the facts are the facts.

lolwut? You know when they talked about the cabinet of rivals, they weren't talking about him working with Republicans, right? After all, he certainly didn't appoint Republicans to his cabinet. The remark was in reference to his decision to appoint politicians to cabinet positions where he didn't necessarily see eye-to-eye with them on policy, such as Hillary Clinton (although the two of them seemed to work hand-in-hand when it came to a lot of the policy choices, so the purported differences were overblown). The "rivals" were often ultimately rival politicians who viewed with him for office, which actually isn't that uncommon at all.

...no, he dropped the public option to ensure his own party would also be onboard. Even when a party has complete control, not everything the president wants to pass will pass.

Pretty sure he didn't have the votes for that anyway.

...except presidents literally can't do that. Once again you seem to have confused presidents with kings.
