It was in 2018's replicas starring keanu reeves so SPOILER ALERT if you actually care about the deep plot

it's about a neurobiologist (reeves) who tries to bring his family back to life after they die in a terrible accident

so reeves is a neurobiologist that is close to being able to transfer a dead person's consciousness to an artificial android, and he's friends with a cloning specialist at work. He has a wife and 3 kids (a teenage boy and girl and a younger girl named zoe). They're going off on a vacation when they accidentally drive off the road, over a cliff, and into a river. Only reeves survives

yada yada yada reeves and his friend decide to try and bring them back by putting their consciousness in cloned bodies but the bad news is they only have 3 cloning pods. Zoe is randomly picked as the odd person out who they won't bring back

reeves sets out to erase zoe's existence. For his family, he actually deletes any memories with zoe in it from their memories and gets rid of evidence around the house that she ever existed. And that's it. That's literally all he does to erase zoe from the entire world. And it somehow works. Nobody at all cares or notices in the world that zoe has literally disappeared. At times while waiting for the clone bodies to mature he responds to his wife's and 2 other childrens' social media so no one notices them gone. Nobody cares that zoe is gone not even her school for the entire movie

Are you sure you didn't accidently watch a different film half way through?

He only has a son and daughter, seems pretty clear when that's who he brings back. I think we'd notice if was a missing third child that just never gets explained!

Easy mistake to make.

Plot hole of a child forgotten about and the death of a pet dog that inspires Keanu to go on a rampage against all car accidents. We all mix them up at times.

so anyway at the end reeves makes a copy of his consciousness and puts it in the android body and they kill his boss (who was really trying to research military weapons) but they bring him back cause he promises to leave reeves' family alone and the new undead boss and artificial-reeves move to dubai and help old rich people out by killing them and bringing them back to life in younger bodies for large sums of money. Fin

by the way if anyone likes this kind of stuff the Outer Limits has a lot of really great episodes about stuff like this. Some of it's really fucking dark, like in one episode a scientist puts his dead kid's mind into a machine and it's really effed up because the kid has like claw hands and he's trying to play with a kitten and tears it up, it was really hard to watch :(

well they download the consciousness into these large hard drives that are about the size of a large book. Its more so that they only have a short amount of time after death to download the consciousness. It takes 17 days for the clone bodies to be grown

Yeah even though with her memory wiped from the wife and other children, they shouldn't really remember her but they do it seems

Check it out, I think it's on at least Amazon Prime. There's an older 60s version that has some really cool plots to it, too, but the 90s reboot rolls really fucking dark. Also I like how the season finales are their own episodes but they try to tie previous episodes into a cohesive story at the same time - not always successfully but it's a cool premise.

Another one I liked was the one where this guy creates a realistic Fem-Bot to take care of households but she falls in love with the guy and tries to kill his partner and everything. They revisit that plot a few seasons later and it's so fucking trippy lol.

There's also a cool scene where reeves steals 17 car batteries from all the cars on the block to have extra power for a generator to make sure the cloning pods don't fail. The next day 2 cops show up and tell him that all the cars on the block (17 in total) had their car batteries stolen and ask reeves if his car battery was stolen too. Reeves just says nope, and then the cops just believe him and tell him to give them a call if he sees anything suspicious. And that's the end of that

The equipment used to temporarily store the memories consists of three human sized drives and one canine sized drive.

Question: Do you restore the puppy and and erase one of the two legged family members? Which one?

Or do you erase the puppy and use the canine drive to store one of the two legged family members? Which one and why did you pick your wife?

That movie was so bad I didnt even realize it was ironically funny and turned it off before the clones.
