I live in a condo. My next door neighbor looks at the packages I have in front of my door and reads where theyre from. Sometimes she picks them up to get a better look. She also looks at my outgoing mail. Shes nosey af. Shes quick to report others for any small infraction, especially if its something thats against the condo rules. But she breaks a lot of them herself.

Whats the appropriate response to this? Normally I like giving people chances but... this isnt a mistake, its willful and intentional invasion of privacy in my opinion. Im sure she wouldnt like this happening to her. Thoughts?

Confront her and ask her politely to stop and if she'd like to come in for coffee.

Be real friendly and ask her if she's expecting any packages. Ask her when and from who. If she starts getting weirded out, say "Oh I'm sorry. Am I making you uncomfortable? Now you know how I feel when you go through my mail. I'm asking you kindly to please stop or I will have to report you. No hard feelings, have a good one!"

Then aggressively slam the door hard enough to make her heart jump out of her chest.

Directly ask why she has been looking through your mail. Tell her to stop. Let her know that if you somehow accidentally receive mail that is hers, you will bring it to her.

Ask her to stop and remind her that tampering with mail is a federal offense.

I don't think you can prosecute someone for looking at a package if it's in a public space.

First politely ask her not to do that if you have not already.

If she continues, you have 2 choices.

First choice is more sane, glitter bomb her like suggested above, I think they have ones that include skunk smell as well.

You won't get in trouble/arrested but your neighbor may hate you and so you'll have to deal with that in the future.

Second, shoot her ass, and tell the police you thought she was stealing your mail, and she threatened you in the past so you were defending yourself.

You might go to jail for that, but you might not (can you afford a decent attorney), and no matter what, you won't need to deal with her again, and whoever DOES move in, will be REALLY cautious of you in the future.

See the problem I have with this is that shes older than me by a decade. Meaning you would think she would know better. Besides, Ive had to confront her for other dumbass shit shes done. Im kinda done talking.

Secondly, shes reported so many of my good neighbors over trivial things and caused way too much grief. In her tenure some have even been forcibly removed due to her.

I feel glitter bomb or DirtyDastards plan is good. AND I plan on recording whichever I ultimately decide on.
