I'm wanting a superhero game where you design your own character, and then basically play through your own 'origin story'. Learning your powers, saving the day, meet your villains, beat your villains, all that jazz.

Any games like that?

Yeah there was an mmo like hat. I can't remember the name of it though. It was the DC one. There really isn't a game like this. Good idea though.

Does South Park: Fractured But Whole count?

Saint's Row 4 spurred me to make the thread actually. I want that but like... serious. And not a simulation type thing either.

I was thinking about this the otehr day but different where you start out as something totally else and the game just totally changed. Like you are a paper boy delivering newspapers or something and then something happens and you become something totally else and the game just totally changes as you play it. Games don't really do this. Or even a game where you build yourself up and can lose your powers and go back to working doing dishes or something. Like you have your regular life and your superhero life.

Games are pretty bad now. There are so many other ways to do things.

idk, infamous is kind of similar. But SR4 was so much more fun. But depending on how much you want to stretch super hero, just about any ARPG is going to fit the bill.

Saints Row 4, South Park, and DC Universe Online are really the only games that fit that bill. DCUO was pretty fun back when I tried it on PS4, you should check it out if you've never played it.

i thought DCUO was shutdown but looks like it's still going.

I did have a decent amount of fun with it, i don't remember it being terrible as free player, but as they started adding expansions that were unlocked with the sub the sub started to become quasi required

Batman Arkham Origins, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Yakuza 0. You don't get to design your character in those games though. You are basically batman, adam jensen and Kazuma Kyryu.
